I just had the first serious problem with the car two days ago, at ~2000 miles (3200km) in the odometer. I started hard from a traffic light (not WOT/redline, but fast) and the check engine light came up... I took the car to Ford on the next day and they replaced (under warranty) the purge valve (IDS EVAP TEST CODE P014REPLACE PURGE VALVE as per the invoice).

All good now, but I'm a little bit concerned. I hope this was a one time event - this is my DD and I really don't drive it too hard usually.

I wouldn't call that a serious problem. It has nothing to do with how hard you drive the car. I've replaced about a thousand Mercedes purge valves over my career as a tech.

Thanks, good to know. I meant "serious" as it had to be serviced...
