Hey fellow ecostangs

I current have q ATP NON Catted downpipe installed in my car . I do not have the tune uploaded to my car yet because the dealership needs to work on my tsb due to the smoke issue that most ecoboost owners are having. Before i clear this code just wanted to make sure if its normal this code appears because i do not have the tune uploaded to the car and i have a NON catted downpipe? Or something is wrong with my connections? Just need more info on this code!

Pm'd

Would like to note It looks like an O2 sensor was triggered, It could most definitely be because you don't have a tune, as tuners usually just disable It for you so It doesn't come up. Anything that will cause the car's system to not pass emission standards as to trigger the O2 sensor will CEL.

And since we have California spec'd cars....

You took the CAT out so yes, you will always throw a code unless you turn off the downstream 02 sensor with a tuner.

Don't take your smoking car in for warranty or TSB work with a catless downpipe.

Haha yea sucks to live in california when it comes to our emission laws over here but thanks for the info bro. i will check tomorrow the connections and see if anything is loose but im also thinking it gives me this code becuz my downpipe does not have a catalytic converter its just a straight pipe. But if anything i can just clear the code myself with my sct accessport right Jww92201

Well don't mind if I call you one lucky son of a bitch. I wish I had one of those.

You didn't install anything incorrectly, your rear o2 sensor is just telling you there is no CAT. Happens all the time. I'm not sure simply clearing the code will fix it. You need to turn that o2 sensor off via a tune.

You can also just buy an O2 sensor housing extension, this moves the rear o2 sensor out of the direct exhaust stream simulating a cat, they are super cheap and you won't have to mess with your tune or messing with wiring in a simulator. Easily reversible!

Has worked on multiple friends cars where we have put in catless pipes.

Standard code as everyone mentioned. You will need a tuner to disable to code in your tune in order for it to go away. They should also be using other diagnostics to tune the car properly without the use of the rear o2 sensor. Just about every car I tune has this code due to a downpipe, so it's just a habit now.
