Why would Whipple be fussy about the 30 days? If you can show proof of purchase, that should be satisfactory.

Although in this case, it sounds more like engine rather than S/C. Does the Whipple warranty cover the engine ?
It covers up to 5k in engine damage, yeah I bought the kit from Leathal and added the warranty, ASSUMED this information was submitted to the third party, that Whipple has in place for their warranty.Found out through research that there is a WARRANTY FORM that has to be filled out and submitted to them before 30 days after the install. I wish that I would have been more informed about the warranty details, but life goes on. This is why I hate to purchase these things in good faith. $7500.00 blower/$1300 install and now i get to pay for the motor to get torn apart.:frusty:

Who is the 3rd party? I am not finding any detail on the Whipple website.

I bet a lot of people didn't mail in their warranty papers on time. Do they require certified return receipt? :faint:

I went to the Whipple website and started the online purchase process and there was no option for me to add the optional 3 year engine warranty.

If you're his mechanic, that explains this whole thread.
WTF? This must be that 6000 mile screwdriver I have heard about.

So let's see. Multiple misfires with cam and crank errors and oil starvation on half of the motor.

We are not rejecting a warranty as we only connect you with the third party. But the paperwork has to be mailed in, as it's proof of installation. That's why there is a form with the kit. We can't fill it out since it's purchased through a dealer, then installed by someone else. They can't have people fill out paperwork after a possible failure but that doesn't mean your out of luck and on your own. I would highly recommend looking into the issue first and then you would have a better chance of reimbursement. Were a very reasonable company and stand behind our product. But of course, a phone call, email, etc. to us would be helpful.

First, the shop needs to identify the issue and this should not take 5+ weeks. We already gave them info and Sonic offered his help. First, you look up the codes, you then find what are the causes of those codes. You then go and check what the codes tell you. You check the wiring to make sure there is no break, no pinched or cut wires to those sensors to the PCM and or/check voltages/signals from those sensors.

If wiring is correct, then you need to check mechanically to find the issue since it's giving cam sensor error, it's possible it jumped a tooth, phaser could fail, could be debris, etc. If these codes pop up, the cams lock in position and the issue needs to be diagnosed.

We were asked 5 weeks ago about the codes and we said they need to be checked because we don't change cam sensor parameters, if they are out of range, they are out of range and there is a wiring or mechanical issue. Ford themselves have had issues with the phasers and debris in them causing the cam to be out of position, which sets codes.

Because it has to be installed by a certified dealer.

Did OP get the work done at a Whipple certified dealer? I would think a certified dealer would know to mail in the papers.

It sounds like the car needs to go to Ford dealership as a cash payer and try to work out that 3rd party warranty while the engine gets worked on.

I looked at Whipples website, and Fastlane Motorsports is a Whipple certified dealer. Will a certified dealer know how to fix the engine or is this a (Ford) dealership repair ?

When you add a supercharger on your vehicle you will void your factory warranty as far as the engine goes, I took it to FORD twice and they told me to take back to the installer. This is the chance you take, Whipple supercharger and tune. Both parties have been communicating but trying to pinpoint did not work.

Ford dealership should be eager to fix the engine if you are a cash payer.

Maybe they assumed you wanted a warranty repair ?
