Out of nowhere my check engine light came on. I noticed at idle it was a little erratic/jumpy. What's it telling me? Please help me out. Thanks

It’s telling you there is a code set that needs to be read with an obd2 scanner. Once you have that code further diagnosis can be done. If the car is in warranty take it to dealer. If not an autoparts store should be willing to get you the code. You can google it from there for more info.

Ok I'll get that checked out. But do you have any idea what it could be?

It could be one of a thousand things, but it's unlikely to be significant issue, otherwise the engine would go into limp mode.

With an erratic idle, you could have a vacuum leak or a faulty idle control valve.

Getting the code read is the only way you'll know what wrong though.
