A tall person, without shortish legs ratio, and with helmet is challenged with:
  • Seat distance to prevent "frog leg" syndrome
  • Steering wheel extension to prevent arms too straight
  • Seat back angle
  • Vision under the rear view mirror
  • Chin-on-chest syndrome
  • Helmet clearance, both to roof and to headrest
To overcome all this, I lowered the seat all the way down, angled the upper seat back so as to see under the mirror, and then moved the seat forward just enough to get some bend in my elbows. But there was still not enough thigh support, so I bought some longer bolts (M10 x 1.50, 50mm L), 1/4L steel spacers with 3/8 ID, and two pairs of leveling washers. These installed at the seat front, and under the rails.

You can see the total stackup of 3/4". The leveling washers pairs sandwich the spacer so as to adapt and support the seat rail for the new angle.

I used a magnet-on-a-stick to guide them into position and not go into a "herding cats" situation under there.
