Why are you changing the plugs? Is it not running correctly? Most guys run NGK 6510's.

A tiny bit of anti-seize on the plug threads, if you weren't planning that already. I'm skeert of stripping a plug hole. That's repairable, of course, but it's a whole lot easier to avoid the problem.

Before you go to all that effort, why not pull a plug or two and check them for wear. My guess is you won't find much, if at all.

aand..? Is there a specific reason you think those need to be changed at 10k mile interval?
Not really, just wanted to do it. Bad idea? This is my 1st supercharged car.
Thanks Anthony

For a little historical perspective, some 40 odd years ago my '59 Vette became very difficult to start, especially hot. I'd owned the thing a couple of years at that point and had never pulled the plugs. Took one out and found the ground electrode almost gone. The center electrode wasn't a whole lot better. I may have put 5 or 6000 miles on the car by then. That was all from leaded gasoline. Once they took it off the market in 1986, plug wear in most cars went almost to zero. What usually happened at that point was they got dirty and fouled. Electronic fuel injection fixed that. I had an 89 LX convertible (the original 5.0!) for a few years and put about 50,000 on it. Decided to pull a plug or two just to see; the car ran perfectly. Mind you that was the first EFI car I'd ever owned. Just blew me away. The plug looked like it had just come out of the box. So did the NGKs on my 03 Terminator, with a 2.3 Whipple after 45,000 miles.

If you do any reasonable amount of highway driving, your plugs will probably look new, too.

Exactly. These newer Platinum and Iridium tipped plugs last what seems to be forever. Even on a properly tuned supercharged engine they can easily reach 60-80K miles. Plugs generally work or they don’t. A plug gap check/adjust every 10-15K is usually all that’s needed.

You may have to drain the IC coolant. The hard pipes are mounted over the driver side coils.
Might be worth pulling the air box out first which may give you enough wiggle room to not have to drain.

This 5/8" x 6" Magnetic Swivel Spark Plug Socket makes the plug swap easy. A 2nd socket extension and universal joint is helpful for cylinder 4 and 8.
