I called my salesman today and asked to change my order. I thought about it after looking at my finances and speaking with my insurance agent, that it would be more feasible for me to go from a GT Premium to an EcoBoost Premium. So, this was my old order:

2015 GT Premium
Guard
6 speed manual
18" Foundry Wheels
Premier Trim with Color Accent Group
Spoiler Delete

And this is my new order :D:D:D

2015 EcoBoost Premium
Deep Impact Blue
6 speed manual
Performance Package
Premier Trim with Color Accent Group (Redline:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:)
Adaptive Cruise Control with Collision Mitigation

Price difference between the two is a few grand, and i can lease the EcoBoost for a pretty cheap payment. I can lease it for a couple years and then trade it in for a GT, and hopefully they'll be on the mid cycle refresh and ill be in a much more favorable financial situation.Ive already driven an EcoBoost and i really liked it. I drove one with the Auto in sport mode and it was pretty damn snappy! Ill also save in fuel, so thats a plus right there.

Well, back to the waiting game :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I also went with the EcoBoost with PP, 50th Appearance Pkg, 201a, manual, ACC, Nav, and Reverse Park Assist. My blend date is Friday!

Mid cycle refresh would be in 5 years. S197 took 5 years to change, and so did SN97. Your lease will be up before then.

If you really want the GT, then lease it now, and just buy the car at the end of lease (pay residual value). Sometimes there are ways to get below residual if you negotiate after the lease is up.

From what i understand Ford doesn't really lease GT's and the payments would be high and at that point you might as well just purchase it as it'll be cheaper.

I have heard otherwise, and my local dealer offered a lease to me for the GT. Check out this page describing the residuals for the GT, Eco, and V6.

From that page, the residual for the Eco is 54% and the residual for the GT is 56% (for a 36mo lease). If the price of the cars are close as you stated, then the lease payments won't be too far off from each other.

You might want to talk the numbers with your salesman and/or finance manager before you order...

If they do let you lease a GT, then compare the "money factor" between the two. That is basically used in the interest calculation.

Don't often see people making decisions like this - congrats on your self control.

I don get it.. Y so much discrimination against ecoboost....V8 is awesome... but ecoboost is good at the same time... do u own it? No.. then who are u to criticize...it.. and looking at all the issues... popping in diff v8 ... i can say i am with mine decision of ecoboost....

Most of V8 guys here will take out der cars... only for 3 months and will then crib abt mileage and will again keep them inside for rest of year....

Respect what others are buying instead of criticising it...

There are various factors on which people make decsions

Well, I don't see disrespect there - I drove Ecoboost and it was very disappointing, but it is him that needs to be happy with it, not anybody else - I just know I wouldn't be.
I very honestly don't understand why somebody would suffer all the inconveniences of the two door coupe with engine that's performance is average.
