Any roadrace/autoxers had a check engine light come on? Those two codes are for the cam sensors in each bank. At 3500 miles I don't believe both cam sensors failed. This only happens at at an event, never driving on the street, and usually turns off the CEL in two run cycles. I never paid enough attention to see when exactly it comes on, so I do not know the exact parameters that cause this.

Ford tech says we are running out of oil and the cam phasers are at the end of the line. Overfill by a 1 qt?

Worth noting, I never had this problem with my '12.

Worth noting also, I am running Driven FR20 oil.....just like I did in my '12.

Shrug......not red on the gauge.

I talked to Lake @ Driven and he pointed out that there is an FR50 oil now......I wasn't aware of that before. I ordered a case, so we will change oil and see what happens at Pitt Race next weekend.

I overfill the oil a little for high speed track days and run higher weight 5w40 here  never had this issue.

I have around 150 autocross runs on my GT. A very large percentage of those runs include one to 3 seconds of "on the rev limiter time". All include lots of high revs (over 6K rpm). Never any indication of CEL or lifter noise. Oil pressure and temps are fine even after multiple runs in over 90 degree weather. Initial runs, including numerous back to back runs in moderate temps, were with the factory fill oil. Then changed to Mobil 1 5w-20. Never have overfilled the pan or used any oil. Replaced factory fill with Mobil 1 at about 2700 miles and replaced that with Mobil 1 again 4000 miles later (6700 on car). Currently have about 8500 miles on the car.

AutoX doesn't pull enough sustained G's to have the issue he is having. Track racing is a whole different beast compared to auto x... Both are an absolute riot in these cars though.

I tend to agree except maybe in rare course elements but he did ask input from both. :)

It seems to be temp related, I need to dig through the data log and find the oil temp, then I will have a clearer picture. Ford told me the cam phasers are last in line for oil pressure so it is entirely possible that by the time it gets there, it is not enough pressure with hot 5w20 oil.

****thanks Dick, I did ask for views on both sides, we had an issue at the CAM challenge as well. 2 driver car and on the 3rd runs the light came on.****

FYI Jadrice who normally has a co driver gets "lifter noise" frequently. I think he is using Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend. However, Jon Nwanagu who also has a 2015 which Jadrice co drove at the Wilmington Pro indicated (I think) that his car with Motorcraft 5w-20 full synthetic doesn't have the noise. Neither mentioned CEL's and none of the other 2015 guys that I know of doing SCCA autocrossing have mentioned either CEL's or lifter noise. FYI I'm running a Motorcraft Filter. Are you? If not, maybe less filter flow?

In autocross TnT's my car has been almost hot lapped meaning lots of runs with barely time to bleed tire pressures and sometimes not even that. Strange.

Edit to add: I've been watching pressures and temps after runs. The pressure easily gets back up to 50 plus and the temp just moves from the lower side of the green to a little past the top of the green to the hot side. No indication of even close to hot.

Fixed. FR50 was the answer. No CELs on track or autocross.

Something else we found, we made 24 autocross runs in about 5 hours. The car went out every 12 minutes, after the 7th or 8th run it started getting flat on launch, way down on power. Switched the gauge over and saw that coolant was 230* plus. We were shutting it off between runs and it was apparently heat soaking to the point that it was pulling timing. After trying a bunch of stuff, including running the AC to force the fans to run, we had the best results just letting the car idle, with the AC off, with the hood open.
