I was looking at long tube headers and I remember several years ago it seems most long tubes where not catted. What is the deal? Can tuners not mess with them any more?

Well with commifornia and the other states following suit a lot of guys dont want to swap out all the time for inspections or risk the fines. So, manufacturers now offer catted or offroad non catted. They didnt take away the offroad non catted so whats the deal?I was looking at long tube headers and I remember several years ago it seems most long tubes where not catted. What is the deal? I was looking at long tubes and most of what i found was catted. Just wondering if tuners couldnt do it no more or what. I cant stand commifornia. I want that place to just burn to the ground or get nuked.Well with commifornia and the other states following suit a lot of guys dont want to swap out all the time for inspections or risk the fines. That kind of talk and they will come get your guns and knives, require sensitive training classes, and be put on a National terror watch list.I was looking at long tubes and most of what i found was catted. As others have mentioned there's been a lot of changes with emissions laws over the years which now prevent certain products not certified by CARB to be shipped or run in certain states. California being the most strict of them all. With that said manufacturers such as Kooks, ARH, Stainless Works, LTH, JBA and a few others still offer their headers with an offroad option.I was looking at long tube headers and I remember several years ago it seems most long tubes where not catted. The problem isn't buying catted or non-catted long tubes, the issue is tuning. New tuners won't let you turn off any emissions equipment. The person tuning might not want to turn off any emissions equipment as well after the Derive fine.I was looking at long tubes and most of what i found was catted.
