Looking at getting a Corsa 3in downpipe for my ecoboost. It has a 3 in exhaust on it would just need the down pipe to complete it. Would it cause any problem not tuning it? After the down pipe I am going for intercooler and Cobb Accessport. But pry will be 3 to 4 months before I will tune.
Also any down sides to a catted down pipe verses non catted

I ran a Corsa 3" catted down pipe with MBRP 3" Racing Exhaust on my 2015 EcoBoost for several months before getting a tune with no problems other than the CEL popping up occasionally for the O2 sensor which I kept clearing. Once I put the tune on it, that went away. I am now running a CVF 3" catted down pipe with MBRP 3" Racing Exhaust on my 2018 EcoBoost and had the same issue with the O2 sensor throwing a code occasionally. This time I purchased a Vibrant 90deg bend O2 restrictor adapter that came with 3 sizes of restrictors and installed it with the medium restrictor. No more O2 CEL and without a tune! I ran it for a month before tuning with zero problems. Having said all that, I recommend getting the tune, since you wont be able to harness that extra potential horsepower without it. It does make a very noticeable difference. I also recommend getting the intercooler before anything else, since the OEM intercooler is straight up crap and even with a tune, one pull and you are so heat soaked that the ECU will pull all your timing and your performance will go in the toilet. I put in the ATM intercooler, which turned out to be a wise investment here in hot and humid Florida! Good luck with your build.
