This is the catch can that has the side threaded whole which is for another type of bracket 5028-23 (BASE MODEL) It should have came with a 10/32 screw cap

Here is the 5028-98-SC (upgraded difusser with check valve)

The newer cans have 2 small threaded wholes on the top so you can run the remote mount relocation.

I don't want any extra threaded holes for a remote mount is it possible to get it like the picture shows in the 2nd link that shows the 5028-98-SC ? Thank you , Wendy

I got mine sent to in a Manila envelope with no instructions, not that it is hard to install or anything....but mine came with the right hand hoses without the chrome pieces that has the little arrow showing the air flow direction. The unit came with both left and right hand hoses attached so I just installed as it came. Turns out the hand hose that leads to the intakes was reversed so nothing was being filtered. Now it was probably my fault for not checking, but I drove with it for close to 1k miles before checking out what it was catching. So to my surprise the can was completely dry. Called UPR and they had me switch the hose around after telling me to look at the fitting to where the small arrow was pointing to which I told them mine doesn't have the chrome pieces :(...so I got and old model as well despite having only ordered a couple of months ago. At this point I was worried about my engine but they told me everything was fine....so I got all those hoses facing where they needed to be pointing and then went on a 600 mile round trip to MA. Upon returning to NJ I opened up my can to find nothing again. UPR then told me that I still have nothing to worry about and that it would eventually start separating and that mileage didn't matter when it came to catching oil. They said it would eventually start to flow....they told me my engine just seems to be running very clean and not to be worried....but guess what? I am......

Any opinions?

Sorry for the wall of text...
When you install on the passenger side looking at the engine from the front, the air needs to flow from left to right. There is a valve in the hose that only allows the air to flow one way. You can test the flow by blowing in one end or the other. Additionally on the SC version I oriented it so the air flows in through the middle section and out through the C at the top. You should be catching a decent amount of oil and should at least have an oil film. UPR should label the flow direction and add instructions.

The cans we have now all come with the 2 small mounting holes.

I think UPR should just get rid of the old design. Another thing they say in the new design video is that the old one only catches 50% of the oil whereas the new design catches 100%. I don't think anyone would want the old one just to save $35.

Already have done this and confirmed airflow from left to right if you're facing the car. Still not a drop of oil in my can after having it installed (properly now) for more than 600 miles. :(

I have explained this to UPR and they say that all is fine and eventually it will start catching but nothing I'm seeing says it will. I just don't know what to think at this point or if having it on and nothing going through it is going to cause any engine issues down the line. I'm so close to just putting the old hose back on which I really don't want to do. Nor do I think I should have to purchase a new can in the case that this one just isn't working properly. Again, I ordered in the past couple of months but received an old version that came fully assembled (so I just installed it as it came to me), no instructions and no chrome fittings on the valve hose showing the air flow direction. Not sure why I received one that doesn't look like what is on their websites/install videos.

Does anyone else have a can hooked up that is not catching any cans at all?

Here is how mine looks installed:

Here is what it's catching:

I have a upr catch can and it works just fine. If you're worried it's not working properly, stick the original line back on. Clean the manifold side real well and drive for 500 miles and pull it back off. Check the manifold side with a Q tip and see if there is oil vapor going through. If it's clean, your car may just run that clean.

Mine catches enough to have me singing its praises. I have the metal hoses on the right side.

Big pic..On the right side hose under the black tape (ours did not have) on the metal is a small arrow pointing in the flow direction very small in the pic I have. Then in the First small pic there is a inlet and out let tube so I was told by UPR I sent pics. Unscrew the cap and one side is open that goes to intake... the side that goes into the solid piece goes to the valve cover hope this helps:thumbsup:

It`s # 5028-98-sc , just make sure if you order it to install the right way, ours did not come with instructions for the proper flow direction. It is a nice setup

A HUGE thanks to BobS550! After all this time the open section of the can was pointed in the opposite direction! This wasn't even mentioned to me once to check while on the phone with support :(

UPR really should include some instructions and troubleshooting steps with their product. I fully understand that it's not rocket science putting this thing on, but mine came without a directional airflow arrow on the valve hose (mine was missing the chrome fittings everyone else seems to have on theirs) and was fully assembled in the complete opposite direction upon delivery. Without instructions what was I supposed to do? Install it after reversing the can and all the hoses? Nope, I installed as it came out of the manila envelope into my hands and have been driving around for 1,500+ miles with this thing in the opposite direction :(

I have spoken with our assembly team about this. This will be watched over so their is no issues on placement. Our apologies on that matter.

Joe just made this and I'm going to post it here. We will have it on our website here shortly.

note: their are a few different difusser designs we have but those will not change the top portion and line location.

Thanks Steve, for taking the time to address this! I just wanted to make sure no one else runs into the sort of issue I faced. These instructions will go a long way to helping others!
