All I can say is once you have had a good stainless works kit or borla kit, with long tubes of course, then its hard to mimic that sound with just eliminating the cats and resonators on the 500.
There is a video out on the tube with the test kit from stainless works....only thing I'm not sure of is if its a different muffler...I sort of think it is. It sounds real good.
I agree...there is 100% no substitute for the sound of aftermarket headers. But, on the 500 the oem manifolds are very efficient...headers are worthless unless going after max hp. $2000 plus install for headers is not what I am looking for on this car for minimal gains...I will keep this car on the simple mod side for a while. Hopefully the cat delete pipe will give me the sound I am after. Probably get the stainless works cat back (redline) to go along with it.

I believe that MA, as was done here in NY, has adopted much of California's emission "program." If there are readiness monitor issues, forget passing inspection. Then again, emergency vehicles are usually exempt. Got an extra siren laying around the firehouse?:)
This is something to keep in mind. If you live in a state that requires OBDII readiness checks you will NOT pass with 02 sensors that have been "tuned out" for a cat delete.
