I had a chance to buy a 2020 GT350 before the market went nuts...that car would be 10k over what I would have paid for it now. The problem was the engine...the best and worst part about that car for sure. I still regret not jumping on it...maybe if it wasn't pull me over red.

Cadillac CTS-V wagon in a manual.

I came real close to selling my G35 for a first gen CTS-V 10+ years ago. Read all the horror stories of the the diff blowing up. The lack of wheel fitment.

Second gen came out with the wagon and I fell in love with it. I didn't have the means at the time, but I wish a could have scoped one up.

Maybe someone can explain to me what has happened with these prices though. I’m not understanding the economy too much. I think we were in better shape economically back in 2018 when most of the prices on these modern cars were down. I don’t see what’s caused such an increase across the board, is there really that much demand for these cars.
My opinion, is this.
2020 many saw life change really close to home. With either loved ones, friends or themselves getting deathly ill or worse. And things they normally would put off or not bother buying, are because the saw tomorrow may never come.
If I didn't almost kick the bucket in 2020, I would have never bought a new Mustang. I am sure many said duck the retirement I might never see it, and bought a vehicle they wanted , more buyers than supply and off we go.

Either Honda Civic Si or Integra Type R. I got Prelude though, which covered sporty FWD segment for me.

Either Miata or S2000, or MR2, maybe a Corvette. A Boxter, or a vintage 911 (late 60s, early 70s) when they were stil obtainable. But I never could live with a 2 seater. I prefer being able to have more than 1 passenger. Never had a roadster.

I grew up in he 90s. There were so many cool cars then.

Me as a giant couldn't fit in most of them.

I fit my 6'5" ass into my RSX-S. No way an S2000 or a Miata could have worked.

I would have loved the option..

At least you can get all the ladies. Not fitting in most cars is a small price to pay...

Sucks it almost got you, but glad you made it out. I think everything you mention are contributing factors. I would add to that-- a lot of people also moved to permanent work from home status, which resulted in the gift of time. That time allows for more hobby cars.

87' Grand National. Could have bought super cleans ones in the mid 90's for under $12,000.00

2nd gen MR2 turbo.

Late 90's Lotus Esprit Twin Turbo. Almost perfect survivors selling for around $25-29,000.00 just 13 years ago.......

I regret not buying a 1996 BMW M3 when i had the chance when i was stationed in Germany back in the 90's. I was an impatient person back then. When i wanted something and it wasnt available my wait game was horrible. So i ended up getting something totally different and not able to bring back to the states without a fee. It was a 1994 Ford Escort RS cosworth. Bought it off a fellow soldier who was leaving. Ended up being a cool car but ultimatley i missed out on the car i actually wanted.
