It should be a simple install but I’m being told it’s not the dash itself and me and how I’m installing it. It’s pretty straight forward and stock dash I’ve taken on and off 10+ times with no issues.
Damn it. That seems to be where they all fit bad. I cant understand what the issue is. Its a factory part with a different outer skin. Also not sure how they could think you are doing it wrong. Its a piece of plastic with clips on it. If they all go in the hole it should fit flush

Exactly. So not sure what to do from here. Either live with it or put stock back on. MPR says theirs doesn’t have a gap but someone I know tried there’s and had same gap. It’s just to thick with no flex like stock. I don’t want to pay $4k for oem dash lol

the carbon looks excellent and love the bezels over the vents and gauges. I just wish there wasn’t such a large gap. It’s been a frustrating few months trying about 4 dashes and it’s either bad quality carbon or poor fitment. Can’t win.

I'll take a pic of my dash from that angle to compare in the day or two. I'm curious to see how it compares.

Ah ok. Mines a complete replacement
Yes, I know. For the longest time, I debated between Forgitec overlay, Trufiber replacement, or having my OEM dash skimmed. I went with the overlay partly because I figured if I did not like it, then I could go with the other two options.

Let me ask you a question, while you are sitting in the car, can you notice that gap on top? Or can you only notice it when looking in thru the windshield?

It’s mostly seen from the outside

Okay, so that's not too bad. What about noise or vibration when the car is running?
It is possible TBLGT350 that by installing 2 layers that Mustang-Carbon does, versus 1 layer other aftermarket folks do is contributing to your challenge.

If you have, and are decent at using a Dremel rotary tool, you may be able to fix the root cause easily. You may find that a sandpaper block may be all you need to address the issue. First you'll want to apply something like a water based paint on the part at potential contact surfaces, and then when reinstalling the panel, see where the witness marks show interference on the mating dash surface(s).

BTW... I mention water based so that you can easily wipe/wash off any traces of paint prior to final assembly. I've used grease pens, enamel paint and such, but whatever will clean off easily without damaging the part appearance should work.

Hope this helps you.

I’ve tried the dremel with no luck

Sorry to hear that. Let me know if you try the witness mark procedure. I'm getting ready to double overlay my part and I'm curious what potential issues I may have. Of course, once I fabricate my part I'll share with you if I find a similar issue and what solution I find.
