I’ve never heard if getting a CarFax ding if reporting an egging to the local Police.

His vehicle was vandalized, therefore he SHOULD report it. Do you think his was picked randomly out of everyone else’s on the block? Here’s why he should report it, because if it happens again, then there is a document trail to back up repair costs if or when the perps get caught.

Even if he just reports it as a Comprehensive claim, it’s going to jack his rates (don’t believe any Ins. Co. if they say they won’t, they will at your next renewal). So he should also document it with the Police, because of the cost of repairs alone.

It would suck if he got the car repaired and it was egged again and there’s no prior report of such activity in his neighborhood. Because if he were then say to the Police, well, it happened before - they’re going to say, well, why didn’t you report it the first time....

To each his own I guess...
Those are definitely valid points, but I will say I think this was random. A few other cars/houses down the street were also egged in addition to mine, this didn't happen in my neighborhood :/ I just happened to be one of the few cars out at that time

Im pretty sure its only reported to carfax if insurance is involved. May get lucky they could be rich assholes and pay out of pocket.
