Hi I am new here and on a looooong waiting list for my GT and would appreciate some advice.I hope I am not breaking any rules with my first post.....

On Pistonheads Classifieds I have noticed a company that always has the first page or so of ads for new unregistered Mustangs at list plus a commission with some cars immediately available.Now realising that there is very rarely a "free lunch" in this world or in their case a "relatively free lunch", has anyone here ever dealt with them or purchased from them,or am I just being naive.

I had signed up to there mailing list and this was the latest list of cars they had coming in . AS you said they charge a finders fee .

If you are looking to jump the queue why not ring a load of dealers up and see what they have available in cancelled orders and a like

I telephoned every Fordstore dealer in the UK a couple of months ago to see if there were cancellations but not much came up and a couple of dealers gave me a polite boll@$¥ing for even asking .One rightly suggested that if an amendable cancelled order came up then they would offer it to the person in the queue who had waited the longest which sounds fair to me.

On a side note I ended up ordering from a dealer who had just had a cancelled order so gaining myself 6-7 weeks.However since then I have contacted the now famous Stacey at [email protected] who has confirmed that the dealer is actually incorrect and that the build date is NOT based on the original cancelled date I inherited but on the date I personally took it on.So I am getting completeley differing views on cancelled orders from Ford hence I am looking at alternative ways to obtain a car as at my advanced years waiting becomes much less attractive........;)

Pretty sure that hasn't happened once. Every cancelled order I have seen has gone to whoever can thro money at the dealer 1st

I would think that [huge] list of short delivery time Mustangs may be dealer cancelled orders and spares arriving at dealers that the broker has some knowledge of. I also bet that many of them are already allocated so not really readily available.

If you ring round the dealers you may be getting the same cars.

Yeah as said above this doesn't seem to be how it works. I picked up a cancelled order in March when UK deliveries started arriving in some numbers and only had to wait about 10 days between putting my deposit down and picking up the car.

I'd keep ringing round the dealers, and also keep your eye out on here as cancelled orders are advertised from time to time (which is how found mine).
