I moved out of the mean streets of London in order to have somewhere reasonably safe for the Mustang, when it arrives.

Quiet private cul de sac which even delivery drivers and the postman can't find. I now have a garage but it's 40cm too short for the car.

Obviously I will be keeping my old car for station duties and driving anywhere where I won't get safe parking.

Unfortunately you are never going to be safe from parking unless you don't drive it. Every time I go shopping I park it on its own miles away from the shop entrance, and when I come out there's this piece of crap kids wagon parked right up close to it. Then I do the ritual of minutely checking for door scrapes before I drive away.Really pisses me off.

Funnily enough, I never got any bother either, well vandalism anyway, when I drove this
No offence but that could do with detailing mate. Not that I think you will ever get the shine back in that paint!

Yeah i'll love that parking at the train station everyday, (It's going at the back in the 'not parking spaces but very few people park there, spot), with the security camera right next to it.

Still sh1te scared of jealous pr1cks & door scrapes.

lol,
I parked in a hospital car park the other day. Right out the back there was a spot in the corner on its own. There was a curb one side so I could park up tight to it.
The car park was almost empty so a pretty good chance that no-one would park next to it as it was furthest away from the hospital entrance.
But know, just as I am walking in the hospital a battered shogun turns up, full of kids and parks right next to me. Kid opens the door and the wind pulls it fully open! Thankfully I had parked so far over that it did not touch my car. And why did they park there? So they could all get out and admire it!!!

One good thing about it was I heard the Dad giving his kid merry hell for not being careful. Could have been too little too late but at least he cared!

Yep, they're the things I fear, I think having my car wrapped will protect me somewhat from chips, and re wrapping a single part is cheaper than re spraying a part.

I just know full well, that people will dry up close to me to see it, chavs in their rubbish cars will try and keep pace/race me/reckless driving overtake, and that people will park next to it just to say they did. I mean, biggest fear is deffo when i go and do something that isn't routine, and i have to leave the car overnight somewhere etc... #FirstWorldProblems

I went for the 'beach' grunge look :D. The good thing was if anyone parked too close, they ran the risk of being shot

Think some people are over thinking the home parking stuff - remember you can pay more for a Mondeo than a mustang or pay more for a 'normal' 5 series bmw so why get your knickers in a twist about it. Plenty of higher priced cars parked around the place that will be easier to steal than the mustang. Sure there is the rarity factor but that makes them easier to spot. There are bigger things in life to worry about and if you spend all your time worrying about your car you won't enjoy driving it for fear of a stone chip!
Relax and enjoy the ride it is just a very pleasing bit of metal it is not your child for whom you would happily give up the car to protect. Bit heavy but just can't be bothered by people that stress over the minor stuff in life - it's too short and precious. Moan and rant over :-)
I'm only like this as my pony is away from me for a couple of days getting the full GTech treatment and I'm having separation anxiety :-)

Never understood why people keep their keys on tables next to front doors, etc Mine have always been as far away from house entry/exit points as possible.
Mine lives on the driveway at the end of a cul de sac with no thru traffic. I haven't even tested the alarm on the car so i don't know what it sounds like, whats the point though. When was the last time anyone paid any attention to a car alarm going off?
I have a security camera which i need to mount somewhere, i'm still struggling to find the best place with a decent vantage point. Our garage is detached from the house, the car goes infront of the garage (can only just barely get a focus in when the garage was empty. Now its far from empty & Mustang wouldnt fit anyway) If i put it on the garage the viewing angle is too narrow, might have to put it on the house looking down the path to the garage. I have it pointing at the cars from our bedroom window at the minute and the viewpoint is good.

Big_G we've got 5, 3 front 2 back. Never put a security camera facing directly at what you want to protect, you're narrowing the angle was what I got told by some specialist who's fittered thousands.

We spent a while getting the right angles, but just placed myself on the roof to angle it and my mum on the TV downstairs which it was feeding to, to test where it was angled.

Front 3, one looks at driveway and over the two front gardens, one looks directly over the path to the front door, the other looks right bu catches the driveway in it (All can see the driveway fully, and all entrances to the house).

I'm much like you, however private road, no through roud, quiete village etc, however my neighbours R8 got stolen a couple of years back and we've been on high-alert with cars since (Pretty sure it was the builders he had over doing an extension). But he's got an M4 and a security system now, as all the other houses on our gated bit do, other than us

This is the view it has currently, I reckon that's probably just about correct? Maybe lower it a bit so it overlooks less of the houses and more of the path leading to the house. It isn't fixed at the minute though & wherever I put it I need to make sure it's within reach of one of my network switches so I can run some cat6 to it.
