Don't touch a car cover. Ever, it multilates the paint work.

I know the risks of a poor fitting one or an abrasive material. But are they all so bad or are there any that dont damage the paint.

No; they all damage the paint, not worth it, get a contactless cover.

I got mine from here; http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/ I’m very pleased with it, can’t remember which one it is, it was the most expensive one they did at the time (about £250 at the time). It fits like a glove, has straps but it doesn’t move or billow around even when not using straps, soft interior lining.

In an ideal world you wouldn’t use a cover, but some of us need to. I am very particular about car/paint maintenance and as long as the car is clinically clean before the cover goes on, it should be reasonably OK.

As said,as long as the car is clean you won't have a problem. The main thing is dont go cheap like halfords or ebay.
Get a proper fitted outside cover,my one is by classic additions. It does not mark the paintwork.

Not really got enough room for a temp garage, probably will have a car porch fitted to side of the house at some time. But would like the Mustang covered in the meantime.

I got the Ford one for outside use – not impressed as it lost its hydrophobic property after about six months. A lot of money that I’m sure is not justified by the final product. I asked Ford for a refund and they told me to go swivel.

I had a Classic additions cover in the past... very well made and great fit. Might be worth a call.

Thanks Enoch, I'll check them out. The Cover Your Car ones that Dwaine suggested look okay.
