The title pretty much says it all, but I will explain this as efficiently as I can.

Car is a 2018 base ecoboost with performance package.

It has a stage 1 cobb tune, nothing serious there, but my Sync 3 setup was swapped in using hellhorse parts and all was previously working fine for over a year.

Recently, intermittently, I had a ton of dash lights indicating loss of ABS, traction control, cruise control, power steering, and the steering and drive modes.

Dealer determined that there was a bad speed sensor right rear, and faulty ABS module. Both were replaced.

Car seems to have been fixed as far as retaining all those nannies goes, but now my drive mode toggle only allows me to enter regular Sport mode, or Drag Strip mode. I can see Sport+, Track, and Snow/Wet but it tells me drive mode selection not available on only those modes. In forscan, I do show that the selectable drive modes are still enabled and I even turned the off and back on again just to see if that did anything but had no luck. Any ideas what may be locking me out of those drive modes? I don’t NEED them, I just hate knowing I have something that isn’t working in my car. Thanks in advance!!

So I am currently dealing with the same issue, our very similar. I have a 2016 Mustang GT and randomly when I come to a stop or down shift it pops up my ABS light, turns off all traction controls and says drive mode selection unavailable. No clue why. Turns back on a few minutes down the road.

It very well could be the ABS module itself, or a wheel speed sensor. In my case, it was both. It seems scary with all those lights coming on and losing all of the safety nannies, but the car will still drive fine. I would try your best to have someone scan for trouble codes while the dash lights are on so it can detect where the issue is. My dealership took longer to figure it out because they werent allowing enough time for the dash lights to turn on and kept telling me there was no issue, without the lights, you likely wont read a code.

Another thing you can try is holding the OK button on the steering wheel with the car OFF, then while holding the OK button, turn the car ON but dont start it. This will enable Engineering mode and if you scroll through the pages with the arrow buttons, eventually you will see a DTC page showing you the trouble codes that were there previously and currently. In my case, I was initially presented with a current DTC C41500 which is now gone after my ABS module and right rear wheel speed sensor were replaced.

I still have yet to figure out my drive mode issue after the repairs.

What did this cost you? Dealing with a similar issue.
