Voice activated nav, to a car on the lot? Is it a computer change, or installing maps, or something totally out,of the realm of possibility.

I wouldn't count on it. The cost of changing computer systems and wiring harnesses aren't worth it. Mount your phone or a Garmin.

I doubt it. Due to a brain fart when I placed my order, I forgot to add 201A (BLIS and seat memory etc..). I asked my saleman about adding it and he said it would be prohibitively expensive.

I've wondered this myself and would like to know as well.

Nothing is impossible. But I'd be willing to bet it's several thousand dollars to rip apart the dash and replace the computers and wiring harnesses. There may be some SYNC system differences as well.

OP, Would you be totally against going aftermarket? Its a little soon and there's not much information out there yet about what fits, but I'm pretty certain you can find an in-dash receiver to handle your needs. $800 just for navigation is kinda ouch!

i looked into this a while back. at least on other platforms, the general question was to try and add nav to a non-nav MFT car, which apparently was impossible. Both because some hardware was missing and that all the computers are vin-coded so you cant take a system from another car and put it into yours. so I would suspect if can't be any easier on an even newer car.
however, if you had a base vehicle, and wanted to put a double din aftermarket nav into it, its only a matter of time before someone makes a dash kit to do it. probably would lose sync though, but some of the newer nav units have siri integration, phone mirroring and things that might make an acceptable substitute.

I was told by a salesman at Rogers Ford in Midland, TX that all premium mustangs come fully equipped with the needed GPS hardware and all that needed to be done is have GPS activated in the MFT firmware which costs $800.

Most dealerships don't know any better so not sure if I'd believe that statement.

The car has a gyro or some type of GPS already installed so I would think navigation could be installed via S/D or a flash of some sort...

Can this be done at the dealer?

Your Signature says you have a GT Premium 401A. 201A is a EcoBoost options package. Your 401A car will have BLIS and Memory seats.

See, brain farts all over the place. The options codes annoy me. :p

Sooo, I'm an idiot. I do have BLIS and memory seats, thankfully.

Ok I'm getting the V6 with the 051a pkg which comes with the base six speaker sound system. I have this in my 13 Fusion and it's not too bad but I was wondering if I could get better speakers and add some power to the stock system as I don't want to lose Sync or the steering wheel functions by putting in an aftermarket sound system. Any ideas??

So, help me understand. I have 401a pkg in my ride. Wasn't aware that it didn't come with a standard NAV, I was under the impression, the extra cost was a "Voice Guided Nav". So if I have the 401A pkg, all I have to do is tell the dealer I want the NAV turned on, because all the hardware is in place???

Thanks in advance!
