Can anybody recommend a good safe?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a new safe. Should be mid-size and not weigh a ton (no pun intended). There is a gazillion options out there with different fire ratings etc. Just wondering what people on the forum have or recommend.

if the perps have a crowbar, a pallet-jack or rollers and a gas-operated saw, they'll be able to remove anything. Re-watch the Italian Job for what a dedicated and motivated team can accomplish.

The point is to simply slow them down (give cops time to arrive) or make them walk away because it's too much bother. Now if you have 600 million in bearer bonds, even Nakatomi tower was not enough.

Exactly why I went away from an intricate hiding place with a badass safe. Looks cool to guests or whoever watches your Cribs episode but that's about it.

I have a gigantic one from a factory. The size of a double door refrigerator. Guy sold it to my friend with the combo for $10. I had to move it with the rollback. Best one to have, it can't be carted away.

a cheap source of a TL-30 or better is your local going-bankrupt jeweler or bank branch.

I went with a Safeguard. They are champion's budget line of safes but still have better features than most for the price.
