Hey guys, I know this is a 6G forum but I was recommended to ask here:

recently picked up a 2010 GT 4.6l as a little project. Car has a P0345 & P0349 (camshaft position sensor bank 2 (driver side)) Prior owner tells me it’s the alternator (not that I believe that). He said he put in a new alt but it was a refurbished so 50/50 on it fixing the issue & it didn’t.

car runs & idles fine. Drives & picks up fine. Based off that I am under the assumption it is an electric issue & not a actual mechanical issue based off of research where I’ve seen it mentioned that the car would be running rough if there was an actual camshaft position issue.

I can see the connector has been replaced for the sensor in question- tapped onto grn/ylw & grn/violet leads from the bundle of wires. Wanted to make sure these are in the right orientation & also some opinions on where to go from here? I have a brand new motorcraft alternator on the way & want to troubleshoot in the meantime to save myself from putting the alt in & back out if it doesn’t fix it.

Does anyone have a link to a service manual for troubleshooting flowcharts & wiring diagrams? I can’t find this stuff ANYWHERE, I’m willing to pay for a quality PDF.
Thanks in advance for any help on this! Wanting to get it figured out. I’m also open to sending it to the shop but I have some decent car knowledge & wiring knowledge. I work on generators for a living so it’s a lot of the same stuff but atleast I have service books for those, lol.

Thank you for the recommendation, I bought a manual for my year but it looks like there’s only non-drivetrain related info in it. 4,000 pages but can’t find anything regarding DTC’s or camshaft position sensors or anything mechanical really for that matter. Reached out to them so maybe they have another option I didn’t see.

For $30, you can get three day, unlimited download access to the Ford Service information. T-shooting guides, schematics, etc. The documents are the same ones Ford techs have access to.

Once paid and logged in, enter your VIN. You'll then be given vehicle specific information.

Many of us have Ford Pass App access. You can use that same login/password at the service manual and customer service sites.
