Camshaft Holding Tool

Has anyone that’s done a cam swap or removed heads used a camshaft holding tool? To lock the cams in place to prevent potential damage to the valves? I don’t know if this is absolutely necessary, but I‘d hate to get to this point and not have the proper tools needed to do the work. I’m just wondering how everyone else is approaching this step? Thanks

Never found it necessary to hold cams.
