I couldn't really find anything in the search to really answer some questions that I have around cams. I am considering swapping out the cams when I do the OPGs, and I am looking for some more info on 3 particular grinds. My set up is E85, Headers, full 3 inch exhaust, GT350 CAI, ported GT350 TB, ported 18 mani locked out; and right now I am about 455rwhp. I am looking to hit that 500whp mark or get close. I want to see what I can get out of the 18 mani, but I know I will eventually need to go with a ported CJ... but in due time.

The cams that I am looking at are the L&M Intake only, Comp Cams CR stage 3, and the Comp Cams Mutha Thumpr stage 2. What are peoples experience with these, what are you seeing from a power perspective. I am being told that the Comp Cams Stage 3 looses a lot of torque after 5500. I am also seeing a lot of people locking out the VCT on the L&M cams. This car is not a daily, but I want to retain driveablity, I have heard good and bad things about locking out the VCT from a driveablity perspective.

Are there other options than what I am looking at? I like the fact that they are just drop in and prefer to do that at this time.

Recap, what are you running? What is your experience with your cams? What did you pick up? Would you do it again? Any thing else I should consider that I haven't thought of?
Thanks!

I've got the L&M intake only cams on my 2017 and they run great and drive like stock. These cams were designed to maintain full VCT control, so no need to lock out.

I haven't had it on a dyno so I'm not sure how much power they added. These cars don't respond to cams like an LS engine does. I did these cams because I already had the engine out of the car for a rebuild; not sure I'd open up a running motor in the car to swap cams for ~20 hp and $900. Its alot different than adding a mild cam to an LS7 for $500 and gaining 75 hp and a killer sound.

I don't think theres any way the L&M intake cams get you to 500. Maybe the comp cams offering would get you close.

Thanks but this really doesn't address anything, I am looking for information on cam set ups, not roll racing videos.

I get that you’re looking for specific information on the Comp Cams. The videos are just a reference for how well a car with Comp Cams performed against a GT500. This guy does reveal some information about his cams in his videos, but you have dissect them to get at that information. It may even be worth it to try reaching out to the guy direct with any specific questions that you have.
