Oh i agree with you 100% :)
And actually i did declare the LEDs and Aviva at least didnt seem to care.
I know people slate insurance companies, and say they'll do anything to get out of a claim, but in all honesty, in 37 years of driving, I've never found that to be the case on the 2 claims (non fault) I've ever made....

I have a mate that owns a body shop, and deals with assessors on a daily basis... He says that on the whole, unless people are taking the piss, they're not that bothered about simple changes from factory.....

They're more bothered about youngsters insuring a 1.1 corsa, and finding it has a red top in it, or 19" alloys when it should be on 15", that sort of thing will cost you dear...;)

What about youngsters insuring a 2.3L Mustang and finding it had some random carbon fibre wrapping on it.... *Whistles and twiddles keys*

Well in all honesty, I think they'd be hard pressed to deny a claim based on a bit of sticky vinyl...... Again going by what my body shop friend says, carbon wrapped mirrors, and stuff, they're not really interested in.....

Undeclared window tints however, is a big Nono.

I was not thinking about declaring the red light tints as they glow red when they need to & Amber to turn so can't see any issue personally. I will declare an exhaust mod if I do it but led bulbs & red rear lights I don't think so.

I think they look great (although I've had loads of complements about the clears) and being led to start with they are plenty bright enough. My concern is some scrote rear ending me and claiming they couldn't see my'modified brake or fog lights. There must be way of proving they still meet the standard for rear lights.

I'm with you Greg....we have to make our own decisions and use a modicum of common sense....

I've declared my exhaust, I will certainly declare wheels if I change in the future.. And any suspension mods..

Do I declare my catch tank? Plasti dipped emblems, changing the interior lights for LED's,...?
Do I declare that I may fit EBC pads instead of Brembos, Michellin instead of Pirelli?? Or Mobile one instead of castrol..??.......:headbonk::headbonk:

They're plenty bright enough for that not to be an issue......in fact they're far more defined and RED than they were before.... The only one I may re look at is the rear fog tint........ I'm going to put an LED bulb in there and re assess, if I think it's marginal I'll remove the tint...

I'll do some pics in the dark, to show how defined they are..

I personally, don't think the clear rears works with race red, when I'd seen it in person I was slightly put off by the clear rear's, so in time i'll probably buy the tints. There's some colours the clears really work on - Ruby Red, Magnetic, Guard, Ingot Silver, Oxford White. But that's my personal opinion :p

Yeah I have a set of anchor room tints waiting to go on.l when mine arrives. Don't like the clears at all.

Don't think I will be fitting them myself tho. Hopefully my windo tint man will do it for me. I would make a right mess and there are so many lights!

I would only declare exhaust & wheels if I was you out of that list. Did you go for light or standard tint on rear fog light from Anchor Room? I have the standard (darker) tint to go on mine but also led reverse light bulbs which will offset the tint- be interested in a picture of the fog light at night as may need to change that bulb to led as well :)

I've got the light tint on the reverse/fog......but I've just ordered some LEDs to try, and if I'm in any doubt I'll be removing the tint....:paddle:

In the meantime just took a photo of tail and brake at night......jeez those brake lights are bright..
