Hey folks, could use some advice on something that happened. Just got back from a roadtrip that was around 1600 miles round-trip. Car performed great and was very easy on the fuel.

One thing I noticed however, on the last leg of my trip I heard what sounded like hitting a tire chunk on the road only no tire was to be seen. Several miles later the rubber bit underneath the front valence catches my driver side wheel and rips away.

Two questions would be, do you think this would be covered under warranty? Would it be worth it to even try/does that part do anything at all?

That's a tough call on the warranty with out knowing the exact cause. It would need to be a defective clip or something of that sort. I doubt they would cover it, but you could talk to the dealerships service about it and maybe get a price on the replacement part. Get the part number and look it up online.

Road hazard ... no way a dealer will cover this unless there is no obvious damage shown from the tire tread. Otherwise its collision insurance coverage.

that won't be under warranty...its basically an accident. so insurance or pay out of pocket...my suggestion is pay out of pocket

Not worth fixing IMHO it's a very slight aid to drag is all
