Still awaiting shipping and no EDD. Why do I have the strange feeling that our cars are in a secret quality control hold...

Either that or a contract issue with the shippers... Union inefficiency... internal training...

I guess I have to take it with a grain of salt but FordService said that my car is in transit but it might be delayed somewhere. Hence that is why there is no EDD. Hope this is true. I'll call my dealer on Friday. I don't want to be a pest.

He said mine was in transit as well. If that were true, I should be sitting in the drivers seat on the same day.

I don't think the fordservice folks can really tell us much once the factory marks them as "In Transit" ... which doesn't mean it's actually moving. It just means it's not "awaiting shipment" anymore as far as Ford is concerned.

My theory is that "awaiting shipment" means Ford has parked the cars on the ramp and has to pass the bill of lading to the shipping company. Once the shipping company accepts it, then it goes to "in transit" but the car still hasn't moved.

Let's say the shipper does a walk-around on the car (so they don't get a claim for damage/flaws/whatever) and see something that's not right and then tell the Ford folks, "Hey, you forgot the lugnuts." Ford then takes the car back, fixes the problem, and puts it back in the queue to be shipped. Repeat.

Eventually the car will get loaded onto a train car OR car transport trailer and sent to its final destination. That trip can take hours, days, or weeks depending on where it is. Never mind any one of us can cross the country in 2 days if we really try.

What's amusing to me is the lack of visibility between the car being produced and the car actually leaving the ramp. I'm sure it's the bean counters way of claiming revenue/counts but not actually delivering the cars. CFO: "Hey, just build the damn things and park them... we'll have amazing numbers to report for Wall Street!"

Ford should really put ads on the COTUS site. I've refreshed the page about 100 times today. :tsk:

I see it now... Chevy tosses out a Camaro ad and the ad picker displays it on COTUS... oops. Fire that web guy.

My EDD is still the same 4/18. My sticker always had all the info since it first appeared. Cotus is still showing my car is in production so I have given up all hope that cotus is accurate. Talked to dealer today and he said they are expecting it to come sometime between 4/15 and 4/20. So far everything seems normal with this build week when you compare it to all of the other ones. If are cars are pass due EDD by more than a week than I'll be concerned.

This is interesting.
Since there is nothing new to review I've been looking over the revisions of cotus for my build and they changed what the 400A option group contains, it now lists HD radio. At least there might be a payoff to the wait.

So has anyone else who's been stuck without an EDD gotten an update this morning? I've still got nothing over here, going on 10 days without an EDD stuck in "awaiting shipment." It does get pretty frustrating not knowing what's going on but my original delivery was slated for 4/26 so I'm still patient, for now.

My I production date went from the build date of 3/31 to 4/8. Also lots of info on my window sticker changed such as the status of normal to Rebill ( whatever that means ) and the car number and some more codes by all the emission boxes.
Change a good thing i hope!!
Hail coming through the midwest not a good thing!

Nothing new with car #1, car #2 now has pulled the same stunt and gone from In Transit back to Awaiting Shipment. I'm betting its EDD will disappear soon as well.

No updates for me. Still no EDD and everything else is still the same.
