So the alternative car I was going to look at tomorrow is apparently not at the dealership. Ford Service (not Deysha) said it had an ETA of today 11/4. The dealership is saying that the car is still at the plant in Michigan.

There's a 3rd alternative but it has the nickel PP wheels which look awful on a white car IMO. I could see if anyone wants to trade for the black ones but that probably requires more effort than I want to give right now.
I want the nickel wheels and I am finding a lot of black on the DIB cars. Maybe we could work something out if we both find cars.

The way our luck is running we'd probably meet up to trade wheels and end up crashing into each other.

I was trying to hold out hope, however that is dwindling fast. Looks like this weekend it will all come to a head. Dealer hasn't been able to provide an update other than them getting the car at the end of November at the earliest and they won't let me keep the loaner that long.

I refuse to pay for a rental car waiting on Ford to get their act together. I have an open case with a regional customer service manager at Ford and now she refuses to return my calls.

If I could get the car to my dealer and approval from Ford, I think the dealer would swap parts from another car. I am losing hope over any of this working out due to a lack of effort on Ford's part...

Damn....

The regional service managers do not have any more information than the regular customer service people. Mine never calls me back either. I was actually thinking about calling VOPC, but since my car is at the dealer, I don't think they will be able to do anything related to the recall.

My Dealer loaned me an old Ford Edge with 150K miles on it. See if they will give you an older used car as a loaner. If the dealer had not given me the Edge, I would have been SOL. I sold my VW Jetta TDI the day before the Diesel scandal broke out. I rode my motorcycle to work everyday...but the weather changed and I either needed to cancel my order and get another car or figure something out. My dealer offered me the Edge and I didn't even have to ask. This is the reason I've been waiting. (And the fact that there are ZERO Magnetic GT's with PP within 200 miles of my house).

Will do. My dealer got the same info as yours: not sure exactly what needs repaired/replaced, thus the 'remedy not yet available' on the recall notice. Nor are they sure if my specific vehicle needs remedy, just that it's on the recall list - the lucky 1900!
Hey GT5150, I finally spoke with the Ford Regional Customer Service Manager on the phone this morning. I explained to her the situation (About how my dealer is willing to pull the parts off of another mustang but they need Ford's approval to do it.) She said she would call the Dealership (on the phone) and explain to them how to get approval. Apparently the only way to get approval is for them to call the dealer recall hotline.

It could come soon, but might be on hold until 11/30 per fords stop sale. Mine arrived at the dealer yesterday. I already bought another, but might go look at her to say by. lol. Your best bet is to ask your dealer if they have a similar or the same car on order or in transit because they're are delivering cars at a record pace. 10/15-10/25 build date are on lots. I tried dealer trades to no avail that's why I said screw it and bought what I did. Low and behold I'm glad I did. The performance pack is overrated in my mind now.

I hope things work out for all of you guys. You should try going up the ladder with Ford. I had a big wig contact me about my car, but it was to late. And I'm not sure what he really would have done for me anyway.

Ford get these guys their damn cars!!!!

It is at the dealer... it is recalled though. My salesman says that they WILL take the parts off of another car to complete the recall. Woohoo! Now they have to find time in their schedule to do the work...which they tell me might be a few days.
So they got the go ahead from corporate, Norton? Here's mine looking sad at the dealership. Really hope they can swap parts.
They look great, guys! Hope everything gets handled quickly.

Sorry Deysha, I know. I should have said the changed delivery date was communicated by Ford Service and the dealer.
It’s no problem, Ozzmosis86. Just clarifying in case others read this thread, I’d like for them to have the correct info.

Here it is! :frusty::frusty::frusty: And to add insult to injury, it's still showing in ETIS for the recall.
Oh my!! This is just painful, rl16v6! :eyebulge: :(

My salesman told me that the "hold" fixed the seatbelt issue. He's telling me that a weekend pickup is ready. I hope I don't sign the papers and then find out I can't take it home. I guess I just have to take his word.
Have them double check it, Digope. It’s still showing the recall in the system.

picked up tonight - thankful I dodged the recall bullet. Thanks for all the patience Deysha!
You’re very welcome, snarkipus!! She is gorgeous!!

It shows it arrived at your dealer on Monday, OxFord6G. Give them a call.

Mine is finally at the rail yard in Palm Center, it shouldn't be long now!

Deysha,

Is this the original car I ordered that is held up because of the recall or is this the 2nd VIN I sent you?

Seeing if my dealer can DX a car a few hours away. Same options from what I ordered with +Enhanced Security. Fingers crossed they can do it for same deal we agreed on with $500 below invoice.

It took a month for Ford to move the cars from the final railyard to the dealerships? Now they need a month to get the seatbelts? Slow as balls
I'm pretty sure that the reason they were held at the rail yards was to ensure that the cars didn't get delivered/sold before the recall was announced. It's Federal law that prohibits Dealers from selling cars that are under safety/compliance recall.

Even the dealer is prohibited from driving them. Need to go get my mileage so I can track that too. They don't need to take a test drive/joy ride for the seat belts.

The dealer does test drive it to test it as part of the PDI process. I saw the service guy drive off in my car. I followed him and he went about 5 miles.

I looked my car over as soon as it was rolled off of the truck and it had 8.8 miles on it. I left to run some errands while they put the car through PDI. It had a whopping 8.9 miles on it when I got back and left with it.
