But my car was released from Ford only to be brought back in to the plant. It was then re-released only to be held again at the rail yard. You'd think they'd have fixed it at the plant the second time.All right, let's run through this. Ford identified a weakness in a part that they previously thought would meet specifications. They need to check those parts to see if they suffice or whether or not they need to be replaced. The malfunction in the parts has been released by the media to be damage taken through shipping. However, not all parts were in that particular shipment of parts, so they only "recalled" cars that were given that part from that specific shipment. Our cars fall in that category, so they need to do the inspection. If your car was at the factory, then they just did the inspection at the factory. If your car is at a holding center, then the roving inspection team will do the inspection, and that's where the primary wait lies.
I wouldn't call BS on my dealer. I get the bad rap that they've gotten (and it's legitimate in some circumstances), but a negative attitude isn't going to help you arrive at the truth any faster.
