I'm actually not considering buying another Ford if I cancel my order. My dealer promised me a loaner if I sold my car a couple of weeks before the mustang gets in which was supposed to be 10/19. After talking to him that "promise" turned into only one week before the mustang gets in, then to only a couple of days.

Just checked, mine is the same way. Obviously there's a remedy for it though if cars are being delivered after ours.

Also, buddy of mine who's car was built two weeks after mine, who picked it up yesterday, checked his and no service announcements are being displayed.
Just to let you guys know, this issue probably only affected cars built 9/28-9/30. My car was built during this week but not until Thursday 10/01 and my car does not have the seatbelt issue. Good luck to all who are waiting.

They do, it's called make the customer wait!

I just can't believe Ford, which is a multi-billion dollar company, doesn't have a backup in situations like this.

They will receive the car. Don't worry about your dealership. They will end up selling your car no matter what. So they have to refund you.
That's what I'm thinking. They can probably make more money off of someone else since they "promised" me a really good deal. $1000 below invoice(not a rebate) plus recent college grad $500 rebate, plus any other rebates that apply at the time. Plus I don't know how I feel about having a recalled vehicle.

I let me dealer know that there was a recall on the car. I told him that I might just buy a car from another dealer and he said that they would keep my deposit. WTF?

You have to read the sale contract, but I don't think the Dealer can keep your deposit. The other option is to go to the Ford site and search inventory and provide your Dealer the VIN(s) of cars you would consider and see if they can get it for you.

Interesting, the article says dealers will fix them. Hopefully that means that the cars will get out of the rail yards and to the dealers soon!

Even if your car was delivered to the dealership and there is a current recall it's against the law for your dealer to sell it prior to performing the recall on it.

All right, just got off the phone with the salesman. He says they've been trying to figure the situation out over the past three weeks. Basically, (what he says) all they have to do is an inspection with a special team of safety inspectors who are going from site to site. Once the inspection is complete, the cars will move out of the holding areas. I sent him the picture I posted earlier this morning, and he said he can't stress enough that it's NOT a recall. The inspections will occur at the holding areas which for me is three hours away in Mesquite, Texas. Plus, since they'll do multiple inspections that day, they'll most likely have trucks ready to trasnport those recently inspected cars that day.

Good news, boys!

Hopefully it's more than one team, otherwise we are going to be here for a looong time while one team moves across the U.S. to every individual auto distro terminal.

I hope that is very good news for us, my car Is also in Mesquite. Yesterday my dealer told me that a bunch of "frozen" cars were transported to them Not sure that my car was one of them, but good news that the inspectors may be in Mesquite this week!

My Ford owner account says otherwise. My 2016 GT that's en route has a recall notice also.. It was held at the factory and was released for shipping.

If it's not a recall then why are they sending inspectors to inspect vehicles before they are released and delivered? I'm calling bs on your dealer.

All right, let's run through this. Ford identified a weakness in a part that they previously thought would meet specifications. They need to check those parts to see if they suffice or whether or not they need to be replaced. The malfunction in the parts has been released by the media to be damage taken through shipping. However, not all parts were in that particular shipment of parts, so they only "recalled" cars that were given that part from that specific shipment. Our cars fall in that category, so they need to do the inspection. If your car was at the factory, then they just did the inspection at the factory. If your car is at a holding center, then the roving inspection team will do the inspection, and that's where the primary wait lies.

I wouldn't call BS on my dealer. I get the bad rap that they've gotten (and it's legitimate in some circumstances), but a negative attitude isn't going to help you arrive at the truth any faster.
