My dealer got some more details from their regional rep. This may cause a panic attack for some - but here it is:

"There are a few holds out on Mustangs that I believe this vehicle is a part of:

  • All mustangs built with 5.0L Automatic & Manual transmissions
  • Supplier issue with seat belts
  • Supplier issue with carbon canister
  • Mustangs with V8 engines on hold due to supplier issue

I’m told most of the holds have to do with the seat belts. Once the problem it fixed, we will have a new ETA and it will go off hold and continue to be sent to you. "

Almost forgot the worst part......

"All of the cars that have been sent to dealers, before the HOLD will have Recalls on them, so they will get fixed. This is the latest info I have."

Guys, this was posted pages back. This is why cars are on hold.

I'm not sure if anyone has done this yet, but I input my VIN into the recall database at ford ownership website and it brought this up. STILL does not have a date to correct and says the part has not been allocated. Looks like it's just the seatbelt. This is pathetic.

Can't put two pictures in one post but this one says "Remedy Not Yet Available" which leads me to believe that everyone is correct when they say our cars are just sitting on the lots. No work being done, no parts on site.

Wow, thanks for this information! I love buying a car that has been recalled before I even took delivery of it!

Just checked, mine is the same way. Obviously there's a remedy for it though if cars are being delivered after ours.

Also, buddy of mine who's car was built two weeks after mine, who picked it up yesterday, checked his and no service announcements are being displayed.

I agree there's a fix, Comp, but it seems like the fix has bypassed our build week. Cars before us are being serviced and cars after us are getting the required part/fix. Meanwhile, our cars are sitting in a lot for no reason.

Mines the same way. At least we have something official now. Been waiting since May, they better get parts soon.

I checked for recalls with my VIN on that site several weeks ago and nothing ever showed up. My car was delivered last week, but now my vin shows up under that recall. I wonder if my car was on hold for something else? I'd really rather it have been for the seatbelt since that's at least something simple.

Trust me, ManBearPig. Your situation is better. You know I've never even sat in an S550? Seems funny now. I just bought an MBRP Street to make sure I don't back out of buying this car.

Thanks to SeanR. Mine shows up too. Notice is dated last Monday but that info obviously wasn't shared with Ford CS to trickle down through the dealers to the customers. Good thinking Ford! Satisfaction is no longer Job #1.

I just checked my VIN with the recall database and it says the same thing SeanR's says. I'm honestly thinking about cancelling my order. I'd feel bad for my dealer because I know this isn't their fault, but I can't wait any longer. Especially with out any news on what's going on..

I gave up on my order at this point. I gave my Salesman (3) VIN's from the Ford Extended Inventory to try to get me a car that I can take delivery of this weekend.

Can my dealer cancel with Ford or will they still receive my car no matter what?

I can understand the situation, I work for a company that manufactures products and sometimes things happen. I understand cars built after ours getting delivered first, Ford can't shut down production lines to fix issues in cars that have already been built. Supplies of the fixed parts may be limited and they may only have limited people who are qualified to be sent to the field to fix the parts....

With that being said, their communication has been horrible. Deysha is great, however Ford has not empowered their customer service people to provide adequate service to customers.

I am trying to be patient. if you are upset at Ford over the issue and can't be patient, it doesn't make any sense to go buy a Ford off of the lot. You are still rewarding Ford with your business.

I am blessed with a dealer that is going above and beyond to take care of me. They have me a brand new Fusion loaner. I had to go in and get an updated plate as the one they have was expiring. While I was there they apologized for the issue, thanked me for my patience and filled up the tank for me.

I don't disagree with you , but it simply comes down to I need a car to commute to work in, and can't keep "figuring it out" while Ford tries to get parts to fix our orders.
