One thing my dealer told me that may help you guys make some sense out of this....whatever the hold was (he still says it was for seatbelts. Who knows) the special order cars were going to be released first. Did all of your cars get put in as "special order"?

My window sticker says special order and has my name on it. Might explain why mine got released ahead of most of yours. Just a thought. Try and stay positive. I know it's tough to do.

Also, if it helps....my car has better panel gaps and less paint flaws than any of the cars I've studied in the lot yet. Maybe these cars really did get some extra attention.

Mine is a special order. They just don't think mine has sat long enough. Pretty soon I'll have a vintage 2016 Mustang GT.

Ours was a special order too. Came with our names on the sticker. Day one build for the GT Convertable with 50 yrs package in triple yellow.

I had a look at Cotus this morning and it's down... says that they are doing maintenance. I wonder if it will finally work?

I just checked and never mind, it still is a turd. Doesn't recognize 2016 VINs. Great job Ford!

COTUS is a tracking site that is still in a pilot phase and has not been rolled out for all regions or vehicle nameplates, nortoncommando. It hasn’t worked for any 2016.

Last I heard on Thursday is my car is awaiting shipping. I really hope it is on a train on its way. EDD is 11/2 which can change. My dealer is out of town until Tuesday so I haven't had any updates. :(

Maybe we are the enthusiasts and are more demanding than the average customer, but I am disappointed in Ford's response, or lack of, to the cars being placed on hold.

Enthusiasts may be a small percentage of total customers, however we help bring a lot of brand value through the public activities, meets, aftermarket publications and etc. I think we deserve to receive solid information regarding the issue.

I am frustrated with the lack of commitment and response, am I being too critical? Or do I deserve a better response when spending $40k on a vehicle?

Not being too critical at all, Ozzmosis86. However, any delays/holds from the plant are proprietary information. They’ll get released soon.

Can't figure out how to put them right side up either. I'm working on it

Deysha, any help on mine would be appreciated. My dealer only has the "Vehicle Visibility" screen which says my car is in Wentzville, MO. However, when he called the VOPC, Ford says that it's still in Michigan and they don't know where it is. There is a case number 8040668 assigned to it. VOPC told my dealer to call back at the end of the week to allow the "Shipping Team" time to find the car? What the heck is going on over there?

Check your window sticker for "rail" or "convoy". Depending on your location will determine how it's shipped.

Unfortunately that is not true. Mine says Convoy.... and has always said convoy. But according to Deysha and Dealer, it will come via Rail, then truck. (which is why they loaded it on to a railcar, then pulled it from the rail car to fix.) Now no one knows where it is.

ManBearPig is farther away from the plant than I am and his came by Truck. I guess given that the rail depot is 10 miles from the dealer its cheaper and more efficient to ship via rail the drive a short distance to the dealer.

No special delivery here. We just aren't far enough away from Michigan to warrant a rail delivery I guess. My car showed up on a truck 24 hours after it was released to the convoy company.

Also, as I mentioned....I had them leave the car dirty so I could clean it. I called in sick to work to give it a proper cleaning. When it came time to vacuum the interior, I noticed tons of fibers and carpet debris in the back floor area. The base of the seatbelt mount is attached to some kind of weird bungee cord looking thing. I wonder if this is the area of the seatbelt that was modified?

They say according to their records it's just sitting there. they are waiting on Ford to "release it". I sure hope they aren't going to send it back to the plant AGAIN.

the shipper says it has a Ford 2S hold code on it.... whatever that means.

Lol! I was thinking the same thing. FWIW, my salesman advised me it's normal for my car to take this long to be delivered from the final rail yard (Jessup, MD) to the dealer. He said it could be here any day.
