Buffer trails/holograms?

I finally got around to compounding my car with an orange pad and v34 polish, followed by v38 on a white pad. I used a PC 7424xp polisher and have a black car. Anyway, it looked good as the sun was going down, but I feel like there might be some hologram trails left by the polisher, but it's hard to tell until I see it in the sunlight tomorrow. How can I get these out? They're not burnt or damaged paint are they? I made sure to keep the pad moving, but I did run it at speed 6 which is the highest since the slower speeds don't seem to work out the scratches. Would a black pad and more v38 or 205 work to get them out? It's only 3 months old, so i'm paranoid now that I might have messed up the paint while trying to get the dealer installed swirls out.

How do you even know if you have not seen it yet?
I mean a random orbit is very hard to leave buffer marks.

You likely left some DA haze - that can look a lot like rotary holograms under the right lighting (dusk, etc), what you're seeing is residual marring left over from either your compounding stage, or the finishing stage. Most people think going to a less aggressive pad and polish will fix it, and sometimes it will, but IME it is that you've left some deeper pad parring from the first step. TBH, I have never used chemical guys compounds so I don't know which pad or polish I'd try. I would personally try the white pad and 205 on a low speed, very slow arm movement, but not knowing what kind of marring you're dealing with makes a recommendation difficult. Go get mid lumen LED and point it at the paint indoors, angle it down, take a pic and show us.

It looked ok today in the dim sun today, last night it seemed to have a halo when holding a flashlight to it, I finished just as it was getting dark so I didn't get to see the finished result in the daylight. I think you might be right gtandetail, it may have been some leftover residue, the Chemical Guys v38 polish is really greasy looking when it's on the car, I believe I may have used too much when applying it. I wiped it down again last night after the hologram scare which I think may have helped. I'm trying to learn to properly detail the car, I'm just afraid of screwing it up, although I hear the PC 7424xp is just about idiot proof and makes it almost impossible to mess up paint.
