I got my Steeda Spring today, and of course I broke the perch while removing the OEM spring. Decided to drive it about 6 miles without the spring, and it's already much better. I know many on here just leave the spring out.

Steeda says it's not good to leave the spring out. Are they just trying to scare people so they sell more springs?

Thanks for any feedback.

I've had the spring out for 25,000 miles. No issues.

I watched a video where the guy broke his also. Apparently the top ears are pretty fragile. I ordered the whole assembly just in case.

According to what I've read, there is a risk that the pedal won't return to the normal engaged position without any spring and that could cause damage to the master cylinder, so I'm going with the Steeda spring. I don't want to give Ford a reason not to honor the warranty in case something fails.

11500 miles no spring since new no issues.

I did break my perch, I snapped the center pin. I ended up super gluing it and I put it away. Seems pretty sturdy for if I ever want to put it back.

The car definitely feels better with no spring vs the OEM spring. That being said I don't want to risk giving them a reason not to warranty anything if something were to come up. I ordered a new perch from Steeda tonight, and paid for 2 day shipping. Hopefully it's here by Friday!

Same here. Snapped the Center Pin. I should have used Vice Grip Needle nose vs traditional Needle nose like the instructions said.

Dunno if I can live without the spring now... Shifting has become stupid smooth and easy now I don't think I can do it.
