Anyone else's brakes squeal? My car only has about 700 miles on it. When I'm lightly on the brakes and seemingly after they warm up they squeal. Is this normal for these cars? It goes away if I'm giving the brakes a decent press. I checked and the pads are still pretty thick. It's not the squeaker touching the rotor.

Key word here is "lightly". Cold brakes can squeal! Brake dust as well can cause squealing. This is normal for under-used performance brakes. Will go away.
Just bed them properly and you should be good.

My squeal has nearly disappeared after 2000 miles. Early on it happened a lot, not a problem.

Mine squeal. I actually kind of like it in a high performance sort of way.

Not so much squealing. But I have had them lock up, and bad. I don't like to put it away dirty, so I often wash it, dry it, and put it in the garage. She's my baby, right? Anyway, each time I do this and don't drive it for a few days the brakes lock up. I believe the pads are binding, or maybe even rusting to the rotors. FYI, I do not put on the e-brake. just leave it in first gear and no e-brake. But when I go to drive it out of the garage a few days later, it is LOCKED up. I mean pretty badly. It eventually breaks free, but the shocks compress a decent amount (like trying to drive away with the ebrake on). Only does it if it is put away after a wash.

Uh..yeah..so maybe you should stop doing that?

The rotors will rust if you wash it after a drive and put it away hot. If anything make a quick trip around the block with a few stops before parking it.

Yes, pads are "rusting" to the rotors. If you can do a quick drive after washing, or have some other means of drying the rotors, it will help. Happens to me as well.

Mine squeal in stop and go traffic jams at low speeds. Mark it up as its complaining about not going fast. Really it's the compound of the pads and the rotor iron content. It has gone away after the 2k mile mark.

I also learned the same exact lesson about washing and putting up wet.
