Hi Mustang Fam,
my front pads are dead, so I've decided it's a good excuse to Upgrade. So far I have DBA 5000 T3 (F) & DBA 4000 T3 (R) discs, but I'm undecided about brake pads for my daily driven GT. Both DBA extreme and Hawk HPS 5.0 & Ceramic appear to be popular, any advice or experience would be appreciated.

I replaced my OEM pads with Powerstop Z26's. Great pad, less dust, reasonably priced and purchased on Amazon. I have no experience with the Pads you mention

What snake bite said. I have the DBA 5000 T3 all round and tried the DBA Extreme pads but quickly ditched them for the Power Stop Z26. The Extremes are no better than the OEM as far as dust goes.

I went with DBA Sport SP. Good bite when cold and gets better from there. I would not suggest any track day or extreme performance pads for a daily driven car. They are noisy, tend to squeak, create tons of dust, and have terrible bite in the cold. Unless you plan on doing a warm-up lap to heat up the pads before you leave to work/school/etc, I'd suggest sticking to sport designated pads.

I have the DBA T3 rotors matched to the Street Performance pads on my daily. Very happy with the performance, even from cold, wear and lack of dust.

Third vote for PowerStop Z26. These have been great for me, and you can't go wrong with them for daily use.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. The Hawk Ceramic pads are pushing $600 F&R, so just under $300 for Power Stop is looking appealing. For those people using Power Stop, is the brake bite better than OEM? Also, I read that the pads are smaller than OEM on the front, but that was one random review, just like to confirm.

I found brake bite differed from car to car when I was trying demos. The Powestop for me are not overly touchy. As for the actual size I am unsure but do not remember any glaring size difference.

After having them sitting on a shelf for 6 months finally installed Powerstop Z23. Can’t comment on dust reduction yet but hopeful. As for braking, I can’t notice any difference.

MASSIVE difference in the amount of brake dust generated. 👍👍👍
