Hi all,

So some may know or not that I imported my Ecoboost from Canada. So its a USA spec version.

My Handbrake was getting very high. So it sat Ford now. I suspected it needed its pads replacing. The confirme this but cannot get the pads. They are checking around. Obviously they should be able to get them From Ford USA I would have thought.

But worst case what do you think my options are?

1. Import my own pads from the USA and get them fitted.
2. Replaced my Calipers with pads I can get here in the UK?
3. Any other options?

Ford really dont seem to help much at all. How can it be that a company does not have linkes to its own parts around the world.

I was just thinking to get my calipers refurbished. Mine are not Brembo. They are FordCo Calipers. And they work just fine but looking shabby. So now maybe its time to bite the bullet and replace them.

I have only used them myself when I have been in the states, but I know other U.K. members have had good / quick / cheap service from Rock Auto :like:

I have freinds in Canada so could get them posted to them and then out to me so I dont get to badly stung.

But to be honest. I just got back from Ford. And now they say the rotors need replacing. If I am getitng new pads and rotors im starting to think I might replace the whole lot with what is easier to get here.

So now I am after good suggestions for changing my rotoros and Calipers.

I suspect you need the brake shoes that are mounted internally inside the rear brake disc's. They do not use the calipers for the handbrake.

So I picked up my Car from ford.

As they are USA parts they could not locate where to get them. But they told me the rear pads were shot and that was in fact the reason for the long travel in my hand brake. So I am not an expert here but that is what ford says. I am more inclined to agree with you GDMC. Also I drove away not knowing if they will source any or whether they will try to over charge me.

So.

I rang Modurstang.

Booked in for Pads and Rotor replacment. ( ford mentioned my rear rotors needed changing also ) at this point I just dont trust them.

Amazing that a Specialist can source parts for a FORD and ford cant.
