This is all relative. I spent enough years driving around in an old '69 chevy pickup where the tail lights were so dim anyway having these so bright is a breath of fresh air.

I love them. BUT, when I read the original post I laughed b/c every time I close the trunk at night with the keys in my pocket I go blind.

I cringe and shake my head every time I read about or see pics of freshly tinted tail lights. People are rear ended too often as it is.

I remember the first time I opened my trunk at night and was like "holy crap!" It definitely took me by surprise, but I have no complaints. People tend to not pay attention while driving these days. Brighter is better.

Tinted versus non-tinted brake lights. I love this argument.

I like the bright brake lights, but when I'm sitting at a light in the evening with someone right behind me I tend to take my foot off the brake so they don't have the bright lights shining in their face. I hadn't thought about it much until one day I looked in the rear view and could see the face of the driver behind me lit up super bright. So I usually hold the brake pedal down until there is someone stopped behind me and then I will release it.

I had tail light tint on my SN95 for about 10 years and it caused the outside lenses to partially melt and develop flat spots, so there's one argument against.

They are so bright! The first time I opened the trunk at night I was blinded! When I back into my driveway my whole house is bathed in red light. It's sort of ridiculous, but I also sort of love that they are so bright. The taillights in this car are one of my favorite parts of the car. They may be my personal favorite taillights of all time!
