Cracked this open last night. Tried it back to back with one of my favorites, Bulleit 10 Year, and this made the Bulleit seem almost harsh. Smooth and almost, I donā€™t know, creamy?? Delicious. Wouldnā€™t pay the $1,200 - $3,600 Iā€™ve seen it for online but well worth the $99 I did pay for it. This will be a special occasion only bottle.

Wow never heard of that one. Local distillery?
No sir, in alb for Christmas with kid and went to total wine trying to find a bottle of pappy as i've always wanted to try it. Well they showed this and said it was really hard to get and just about as good. I'll say this. It's the only bourbon I've ever been able to just sip. No burn whatsoever even at 92 proof, it's a 10 year old.

Just poured 3 fingers of Michter's small batch.

Wonderful nectar, I even skipped the ice.

What say you.
Been drinking Michters #1 Bourbon 6-7 years, it is excellent.

Visited Michters this summer. Love their rye, it's the only rye I like. Have a bottle of Sour Mash on order, good stuff all of it.

If you're ever in Pittsburgh LMK and I'll let you try the Van Winkle!

Congrats! P12 is very good.

I grew up with the belief that;

Bourbon is for drunks
Scotch is for Snobs
Irish Whiskey is for the working man.

Never touched Bourbon other than in an Old Fashioned or Manhattan (and I prefer Rye in a Manhattan).

That was until 10 years ago when my brother in law gave me a Bottle of Pappy 20.......... He was a bartender, and his restaurant had a fire, they had to dispose of all the liquor. It was in a nice velvet bag, and he said "This is very rare and Expensive" Also had a bottle of Blantons. Being Bourbons I ignored them for a while and focused on the Scotch. Long story short, now 90% of what I drink is Bourbon, and living in Bourbon Country, I am exploring and adding weekly to my collection.

Bourbon is NO LONGER the bottom shelf Wild Turkey or Jim Beam........ So many great options, though the boom is driving up cost, and it makes me sad.....

Their Rye is FINE............. Not a fan of their Sour Mash or American Whisky, but the Bourbon and Rye are outstanding. I visited their Fort _____ storefront and had some limited edition Black label for my birthday and it was excellent.

Prices are going up, but I have found that Wild Turkey 101, Larceny and the Evan Williams 1783 (all under $25) are outstanding, especially the Wild Turkey.

My introduction to bourbon was my wedding day with Wild Turkey. The result: a 48 hour hangover and an inability to consummate the marriage.

Fast forward to today, and Wild Turkey Rare Breed is one of my favorites.

lol ^^^ thatā€™s frickin hilariousā€¦

I have only ever had one hangover more than the next day, and bourbon was not the culprit.

mine was schnapps, and I spent the night in the garage because the stairs wouldnā€™t stay still long enough for me to get up them šŸ˜‚

So far in my 59 years, alcohol has never interfered with ESSENTIAL acts....

Beer and Whiskey consumption are generally imbibed regret free, but I have been destroyed by Vodka and Tequila enough to waive them off except in the occasional Margarita.

One thing that I will NEVER touch again is JƤgermeister........... The thought of it makes me gaag........ Funny Story, I graduated college in the mid 80's and drank myself sick on that swill regularly.... Fast forward to 2016 and while in Seattle, went into a bar in Pioneer square famous for launching grunge bands. They had cold Jager ON TAP.......... Feeling nostalgic, I ordered one up, got it to my lips and promptly threw up in my mouth......... LOL

Did a run yesterday and picked up some Bardstown from their distillery, as well as some Legent, Old Tub, and Bakers from JB, and final stop for Noahs mills, Willet Estate and Willet (in the funky bottle), ALL fine offerings. The Bardstown was remarkably smooth for a young blended Bourbon....

We are going to Buffalo Trace after Christmas for the Tour & such. Hope they have Blantons available that day.
