I have catless LT SW 1 7/8 & ATAK catback, cold start its crazy loud, when it idles, you hear exhaust but nothing annoying.

Cruising you dont hear it too much, no drone.

Once you get on it is a completely different story... I raced my buddy and he had his window down, he said he jumped because he wasnt expecting the car to be that loud.

The only 'sound' videos I have are on my Instagram, I have a dyno video and a cold start non-header (only catback) video @trebor_o

Id like to eventually sell my ATAK catback and go with a Corsa quad catback

I am really contemplating the ATAKs vs S-Type. Are they deep in person because all the youtube videos i've watched seem to lack any deep end tone to it (even with headphones).

I don't consider them deep personally and until they warm up they sound raspy. Everyone's perspective varies though.

I have the GT350 Borla exhaust for the 5.0 and its amazing. Supposed to be the S-Type but I believe its a bit louder. Its amazing sounding, no lie. I find it similar to the Atak.

You can't go wrong with the ATAK. That's what I'm running and it sounds amazing, especially at WOT.

Atak+catless = bleeding ears under WOT. I feel bad if I pass someone while I am on it if their windows are down. Cold start is wake the dead, I love it but it is raspy; not everyone loves that sound.

Has anyone went from s-type to Ataks? I have the s-types now and sometimes I think I want more sound and others not so much but like others have said its all controlled by your right foot.

I've got some Borla ATAKs from my 13 welded in to my GT. The sound was decent. I just added a H pipe and it really woke things up. Still a little raspy but that should go away after 500-1000 miles when the H pipe breaks in. There is zero drone though.

From what I'm seeing on these S550 is the resonator really tones things down so even the most aggressive axelbacks are always subdued. An X or H is vital to get an aggressive sound.

This is my concern that it might not be loud enough seeing as how people migrated from S-Types to Solo Performance Thunder or MBRP Race.

Is your S-Type loud enough to at least hear you coming from a distance?
