I received my Boomba Racing shifter assembly bracket last week and installed it over the weekend. Removing the stock bracket and bolting in the Boomba one is pretty straightforward. You'll need a 1/4" drive, 10mm socket (deep) with swivel and extensions to get the old one out.

The Boomba bracket is a tight fit and mounts solidly. I use Loctite on everything, so some blue 242 was applied to the allen-headed screws provided with the bracket. Install time was around 45 minutes, done on my garage floor (jack stands of course).

The shifting action feels much, much better. Nice, solid engagements throughout the gates. Fast shifts can be done with more confidence now.

There is a slight increase in cabin noise. It's a lower frequency "exhaust growl" and actually sounds good lol. I have LT headers with the stock resonator and mufflers so it actually sounds decent. Because my car is on the quiet-side of things, you do hear a some gear rollover in the tranny now...but only if you are listening for it. Same for the additional low frequency exhaust note. Not annoying at all. The tranny tunnel is just transmitting some volume through the new bracket. Windows down, you don't hear a thing. Windows up with the radio off is when you hear things.

So far so good.

Hey, im thinking about getting this same bracket. But, I'm concerned with the fact that It is so much more rigid and connects to the same factory mounting points as the stock one. Especially so with the GT, isn't there a chance that under hard acceleration/high rpm shifts that you could damage the factory mounting points? Even though I'm sure it wouldn't happen right away, the chances of that happening concern me. Is this product recommended for someone who will do a lot of hard driving or is it more for people who occasionally shift the car at high RPMs? I'm just curious, because I have experienced the high RPM lockout, although I was more inexperienced then. Also I have unintentionally missed a gear a few time while driving to work. So Id like to give this product a try but i'm wondering if it could potentially create another problem like other users have suggested.

I have done 40+ quarter mile runs with this mount and have had no issues using this bracket. Launching on drag radials at 3500-4000 rpm. I believe it was money well spent.

The factory mounting points will be fine because all this bracket is doing is isolating the shifter assembly from the twisting movement of the transmission. The shifting rod still allows this independent rotation. But now with this rigid mount, the shifter itself doesn't rotate. With this bracket for example, 3rd gear gate is still in the same location either idling the engine or full throttle pedal mashing. The mount bears the load of the shifter assembly itself, not the whole transmission.

Okay, well in that case who do you believe tackles this issue better, Boomba or Steeda? I like how the Steeda bracket has the insert in the middle like the factory one. It seems like it would reduce vibration more than Boombas' design, but I could be wrong. Also seems like it would be better than putting metal on metal, I'm not an engineer or anything buy it makes sense to not have two hard metal surfaces vibrating against each other.

I wanted a solid mount knowing that nvh may be a concern. But the shifter is rock solid and doesn't buzz your hand at all. As stated in my 1st post, you do get some low freq. cabin noise but the avg. person doesn't know it's there unless you point it out.
