Have you got the steeda bonnet struts? If so, probably why you don't see much, as they hold it down a little more IIRC.

No, Redline. But I didn't have it even before they were fitted. That said, my bonnet was aligned correctly from day 1.

Mines aligned, the float and vibration of the bonnet I'd guess is something completely different and unrelated .


Redlines do help keep the bonnet down at high speeds though. Whatever struts they are, it's something extra holding the "Hood" down

Surprised the struts would make a difference as they are at the pivot point anyway.

Anything that's gonna hold that hood down will help surely. But, to be fair, I don't get float unless it's 6th gear 4-5k RPM and on a long open road, if I'm crusing 70 in a moderately conjested road, it'll do nothing. Probably just all the air in the engine bay. It's nothing unusual or needing to go back to the dealers for.

Strange but from new last week , mine did flop about a bit, (the bonnet) on bumps and motorways speeds....

i didnt have time to adjust my latch BUT as the bonnet was mainly high at the far right and left front sides and reasonably level in the catch area i thought i would screw the bump stops in one turn too see if the sides came down whatsoever, they did maybe 1mm lol

BUT the bonnets stopped moving altogeather :headbonk:

Fearing that closing the bonnet several times would have lowered it again, I have opted for another solution by adding three washers (which then I painted) under the pin of the bonnet.
I did that in 5 minutes.

Has any one tried putting flat washers between the bonnet catch and bonnet. Will have the same effect without adjusting the bonnet catch.

Can I just add that it isn't just the Mustangs that have these bonnet/hood problems as my new Focus RS is the same.
