I thought I get this opinion on the forum. Right now I’m Contemplating between spending money on bolt ons or turbo these two options will cost me about the same amount. I’m trying to get 330whp to 350whp on my ecoboost but do not push my car trying to get these numbers. I do not have access to or willingly to spend money on e85 want these numbers on pump gas. I’m in Canada. I thought why spend the money on bolt ons if I can just get a trubo for the same amount and reach those numbers easily.

Sliver,

My Vote would be Bolt ons first, lose some weight with lighter rims and aluminum driveshaft, fix the wheel hop issues in the IRS, and then have fun with a safe, nimble car that feels good. If in a year or so you want more power then go with the bigger turbo since you have already laid the ground work to support the bigger turbo.

The bigger Turbo REALLY would need an intercooler change and some exhaust changes and other things to support it right. So you kinda needs the bolt ons first if you want to be safe.

Hope it works out for you either way. Post pictures and stuff after.

A lot depends on whether you hope to keep your warranty or not. If your dealer is of the type that looks for reasons to deny a warranty claim then you might consider starting with them before deciding on how far to go with your mods.

Intercooler, intake, FP tune, tires, brakes, suspension, .....'

Then if you want to go 2-3 years later on a bigger turbo, you will also need a down pipe. By that time though, you have spent 3-5 grand on the above and might just trade it in.

I was just thinking a cold air intake and intercooler and that’s it I mean I’m not trying to push crazy numbers but if I do decide on either or I will definitely post pics and thanks for your input

To be honest there’s one dealership near me thats okay with mods including a tune but not sure about the turbo but if I decide on turbo I wouldn’t really be concerned about warranty lol

That’s why I was thinking why not just a bigger turbo

Pro install without Performance Pack:

Brakes:2-4k
Tires and Rims: 1.5k
Suspension: 1.8k (w/alignment)
Intercooler:1.1k (charge pipes add another 3-4 hundred)
Blow off valve: 600
Turbo w/ wastegate kit (cp-e) 3.1k with install
Custom tune and device: 800
Downpipe + exhaust: 1800 with install

You're looking at 3.2-3.8k all said and done. 28k instead of a 38-40k for a new v8. Up to you, but without ethanol, your ceiling is going be around 330-340whp.

Front brake upgrade GT/ PP ecoboost calipers , rotors and brake pads cost me $ 329.00
Full PP suspension $ 200.00

Bushing incerts and alignment dowel pins $ 230 .00

FMIC $279.00

PP WHEELS AND TYRES CHEAP . They're giving them away practically .

I wouldn’t really do some of these mods and that’s why I was like why not a trubo

No one has mentioned the increased top end with a new turbo. Really increases the fun factor when it just keep pulling instead of running out of breath.

Yes those are good prices ..

Stick around and research the for sale threads for parts that you need from the GT guys and eco guys ... they love giving away needed parts cheap when they just have to upgrade to aftermarket parts ...

Also check out Thepartsfarm on Ebay ....

The FMIC I purchased new and could not pass up the deal .. the IRS PP and such were purchased locally from a fellow GT owner that installed air suspension .. added the Steeda shock mounts ... there are always deals for items that 1 may need around the forums and FaceBook ..
