Is the quaife really a better option? I have always thought they also become an open diff if one wheel is lifted?

Neither are actually an LSD, they both just bias torque.

the atb is a torque balancer lsd but shouldn't convert to open when lifted. its what was in my btcc car when i first got it after a small incident and i shafted the gearbox and diff i replaced with a torsen wasn't anywhere near as good and was a horrible clunk on first engage was considerably cheaper than the quaife diff though.
it only lasted 1 track session before i chucked it and got a replacement atb though just so much smoother and seems to balance the torque much better.

Ok - newbie question...
Thinking ahead to when my Mustang finally arrives, I have some IRS 'taming' on my list.
The 2 fairly complete comparable options seem to be the BMR CB005 and the Steeda IRS full pack.
First off - right or wrong??

Assuming I'm not totally wrong - I get that the Steeda solution is more expensive, but if it's worth the extra over the CB005 then I'm ok with that - what's the real difference between the two?
With either are there other things I should be looking at?

I'm not planning to track my car, just thinking of tightening up the rear some from what seems to its loose natural state.

Thanks in advance all!

Steeda lock out kit is ok but BMR Cb005 does the whole thing, stiffening the rear end and centralise at the same time.
Get the Cb 006 front end and you are on your way to a different car.

Dorm you are correct in that we believe the Steeda kit is more expensive but it does more.

As Avocet says the BMR kit tries to do everything a bit in one go. The Steeda solution is we believe a lot more comprehensive tying the rear end down using multiple chassis mount points and multiple alignment points.

We firmly believe its a great solution and have sold many many of these kits and we and our customers have won many races on both the drag strip and race track using them.
