I am looking for some quick advice so going to cut a long story short.
I just had the engine removed and disassembled from my former on3 car in preparation to install my newly built short block .Block has Manley Pistons and rods with sleeve supports .
I had considered sleeving but too late now as block is all assembled and can't afford(dont want ) any more downtime .
A buddy of mine is doing all the work and is also going to install the 3.2 KB/long tubes/RXT clutch/fore triple pump fuel system .
Labour cost is going to be minimal since he is helping me out
He thinks the cause of the failure may be related oil scavenging pump not returning oil to the engine.
Bad news is I also need new heads/cams .Good news is I am getting GT 350 heads(for same cost as stock GT heads) .
I am trying to make up mind whether to stick with stock GT cams(I will be using GT 350 rocker arms and Up graded valve springs ) or try the comp blower cams
I want a car that is fun to drive on the street but it will also see plenty of the drag strip .
I don't want to sacrifice low rpm torque for higher rpm gains.
I know the stock cams are more than enough to reach my max goal(block is limiting factor since not sleeved) but I am also thinking why not upgrade while I have chance for no extra labour .
