I've seen the replacement pony emblems for for sale but what I'm wondering is if there is a stick on cover available? I recall seeing something mentioned on here some months ago but I haven't seen anything like this available for sale.

I was thinking about masking it off an doing a rubber coating but I'm worried that would come out looking bad. Unless I go with a new grill I just wanted to do a matte black finish on the emblem.

I just did mine in PlexiDip and couldn’t be more happy with the outcome. It took less than hour from start to finish with the most of the time being dry time between coats. I used glossifier but it would have been matte before that, best thing is if you don’t like it peel it off. Sorry the pic isn’t the best.

Matte black vinyl wrap. Get a small amount of the good air release stuff like 3M 1080. You don't need to go overboard with the super expensive vinyl the pony is an easy wrap job.

My racing friend owns a vinyl design, print, and wrap place. He's going to do a custom pony wrap for me..something aggressive with a red eye like my racing logo shark.

That looks nice! I have some rustoleum matte black rubber spray I had used on the trim piece of my instrument cluster to cut glare.

I had masked out my pony today and was ready to go but I had seconds thoughts. Masking around the hooves was a little tricky.

Do you have a shot from further back?

Plexidip works well... even after more than 1.5 years and washing the car weekly, I only had to touch it up maybe twice. And that was very, very small places.

Only complaint... wish I'd purchased a smaller can of the stuff. lol

How did you guys mask it off?

I put layers of painters tape on and cut out in the inner logo groove as I went along.

I do but again lighting is not the best so sorry you can’t actually see it really well.
Masking was really easy with plexi dip, it just used some basic plastic and tape you can easily peel away the small over spray around the horse and it will self cut around the edge of it.
It’s a super simple process, watch one or two YouTube vids, just do a quick search on plexidipping mustang emblems there are a ton.
I also did the heat extractors on the hood

I like the look on the white car with the 20s!

Hard to see is what I'm going for. It has been raining today so I haven't gotten a chance to go for it again.

Did you do the whole grill? It looks lie a matte finish all around.

Michail, I bought a black cover from these folks for my '06 GT. It's a very good item. They have had them for the '18's, but it looks like they are out right now. You could contact them to see if they are going to get anymore.

Seconding this one, I ordered one before for my 17 and the Lightning Blue was a good match for the paint on the car. Stuck on with no issues.

Nope, just the pony. Taped / masked all around it, took some time.

Michail71,
Check out this video, it is really so easy to do with a $5.00 can of plastidip.
