Looking to change my lug nuts to match my alloys, anyone got any recommendations and did they stay black after the install ?

I got these splined nuts with fitting tool http://www.americanmuscle.com/6spline-lugnuts-black-1516.html , currently showing as out of stock but I'm sure they'll be back soon. £42 delivered including tax when I got them. I've had the wheels off a couple of times since fitting and although it feels like the tool will damage the nuts, the black is still perfect.
The only minor issue with smaller wheel nuts is that if you look straight down the wheel nut recesses, you can see a small amount of plain/not black alloy where the bigger stock nuts used to cover. You can only see it if your head is at wheel nut height so no biggy really.

Gorilla also do a type that fully fit the recess (OEM wheels) and don't show any 'silver' bits. Seem hard to source, in the UK at least. Not sure if Steeda UK stock or plan to stock these in the future?

I got the type where every one is a locking nut, which in retrospect I regret. Would go for normal hex nuts now with no locks.

Sourced from CJ Pony, but brought over from the US by someone on holiday, so no shipping or tax. I recall the CJ customer service was diabolical though!

One year later and I still haven't got around to fitting them (currently still using £8 ebay plastic nut covers), but they seem to get mixed reviews on the internet regarding how well they stand up with age.

Definitely get the Gorilla lugs that Monty linked. I've got them on my Performance Pack wheels, and they're great. Removed and replaced them at least a half dozen times in the last six months, and they still look brand new.

I have non locking gorilla lug nuts, i've had the wheels on and off numerous times, and there's not a single scratch of damage on them, whatever they've been painted in, really sticks on like glue!

Thanks, I had looked at the Gorilla lug nuts, might add them onto my list for my next round of mods :)

I picked up these when I first got mine https://lmr.com/item/LRS-W55014SB/2015-Mustang-Spline-Lug-Nuts-Black. Just dont use an impact and they stay looking good. They are a tad bit skinnier than the stock, so when they are on and you get up close you can see a small bit of unpainted wheel next to the hole for the studs. The stock lugs are fat enough to cover this. Just get some black touch up and paint what Ford missed or dont get on your knees with your face up to the wheel and you will never see it.
