I'm going to see how they second set of CJPP parts do. If they fail again, I'll get a refund and check out those MAK ones.

I'm not trying to steer anyone away from CJ Pony but I wanted red badges and at the time no one had them, so I bought the matte black emblems from MAK and painted them red. They've been going strong for two years and still look like the day I stuck them on. It is a good option for those that haven't pulled the trigger yet. UPR sells the actual Ford black emblems I believe.
I purchased the UPR black front and back pony emblems to replace the chrome ones on my ecoboost mustang. There are no retainers with these "ford" ones, they are simply stick on using 3M tape, with guided studs to keep it in the right position.

And to be clear.. it is not a FORD OEM product.. it is a ford officially licensed product that UPR sells. I have not swapped them yet because my car is in storage.

I mentioned to the UPR guys that I was concerned about their being no retainers and having these guys eventually peel off, but he said they have never had a return on the product because it wouldn't mount properly over the 2 years they have been selling it. This only comforts be mildly, because I don't have faith in a "tape only" solution.

I received a replacement a few months back and still have the same problem. My badge is lifting away from the tape on both pieces, front pony and rear GT. Its as if the badge does not have a rounded contour and the stress on the tips of the badge end up pulling away from the tape. So either its a design problem or a batch problem...I'm leaning towards a design problem. Either way, I need to find a different manufacture and I think all of the badges out there come from the same place.

The 5.0 badge is not a problem and I think its due to the fact that the side fender is a flat surface. The grill and the rear deck lid have a slight curve to their surfaces.

For anyone wondering what we're talking about, I made an attempt at uploading a picture of it. It's sideways but that's the horse tail lifting from the tape.

I wonder if there is a way to remedy this?? I mean, obviously the adhesive sticks to the vehicle just fine. It's sticking to the emblem where it has problems. Would dabbing glue in there work at all?

In terms of alternatives for the black gloss pony and GT emblems, what have people used successfully?

Update:

I removed the old emblems and got everything cleaned off. Hey came off pretty easily and both the pony and GT emblem completely removed itself from the tape with a good pull. The tape was easy to get off the car with a plastic scraper and some WD-40. I sent them in so here's to hoping my replacements actually work. Or else I'll be spending $500 on a new grille and rear deck lid.
