Morning all.

Just a quick one.
I very stupidly scratched the paint on one of my wheels this morning.
There's no damage to the rim, just some of the paint.

Wondering if anyone has ever used any touch up or repair kits on their black rims or whether you'd recommend Ford do it?

Cheers

Halford gloss black touch up paint should work just fine, if its a small area...and will be a heck of a lot cheaper than letting ford get it done )

I've curbed my alloys a couple of times. Another vote for Halfords black gloss touch up paint which keeps it looking tidy.

Or if desperate use a black sharpie
I keep a black marker pen in the glove box for an instant "I didn't really hit that curb as I was parking outside the office window" :)

Don't let Ford touch up your wheels unless you want nearly a quarter of the affected wheel in a semi-gloss finish and some nice black patters of over spray on your brembo callipers.

Wish I'd have done a DIY job on mine for how small the scratch was, or even just stuck the rimblades I now have over the scuff. They've held up beautifully, and I imagine the black ones would blend in pretty well if you didn't want to make a feature of them.

Thanks guys, I'll head to Halfords tomorrow. You guys who have used it, I assume it blends to the original colour pretty well?

I've actually looked at rimblades a few times, are you pleased with them? Which ones do you have as there are 3 different ones on their website?

Cheers

I use a black touch up paint I've had for years, originally had it for the radiators, however never got used, does the job and can barely tell, just a standard gloss black, which fortunately is all these wheels are :p.

Halfords will do the job, get them to pre-mix it with laquer ;)! I got my Race Red mixed from them, without laquer, so really need to get and gloss that up (It's on my engine bay, so low priority)
