Yeah its on of the reasons I skipped them, I have had a number of friends report fitment issues, and to be honest I have done the Pypes thing before and I am not a fan of exhaust that has to be vastly modified to just center your tips, let alone keep it from hitting the ground or coming loose, or banging off the spare tire well.

=) You do often times get what you pay for.
I'm very surprised about the issues you've raised. I've had zero issues put the exhaust in, and none of the folks I spoke to about MBRP Race have had such issues. Might be worth it doing install at a good garage to get the fitting right.

I've extremely happy with the MBRP Race, and I've also been using the car around the track - no issues with the placement of the exhaust moving at all.

Check the forums, you'll see plenty of people mention fitment issues regarding the MBRP Race. Heck, MBRP has even sent out a few replacements due to the fitment issues.

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy with the sound but that's it.

Heres mine, Maperformence 3" catless DP, to dual 2.5" pipes with small 8" I think they are Vibrant resonators (look to be 8"x3.5") to a pair of Magnaflow universal street mufflers. Go to 3:07 for actual drive footage.
Those are some GOOD sounds!

I have a garage access =) it is not about getting things on a lift etc, my gripe specifically with pypes in the past was found on a number of mustangs with their axle backs being bolt on but no amount of adjustment would get the tips centered or even close, just youtube Pypes bombs 3.7 mustang and you will see the tell tail left side can never get squared up. =)

I've come to the conclusion that manuals just sound better for some odd reason.

MF street series with catless DP, quiet at idle and cruising but under WOT, it really comes alive!

The problem with 90% of the exhausts out there, they try and make the car sound like it is not a turbo 4 which it is at the end of the day and there is no way around that.

For me the Magnaflow street is the best one out there if you are looking for a clean sound with zero rasp and zero drone. It is quiet but deeper than stock. It is a very clean sounding exhaust and does the right sounds when you want it to. I highly recommend this exhaust especially if your car is your daily or plan on getting a downpipe in the future

A coworker of mine has the very first aFe POWER exhaust, and holy moly does it sound good. With the catless downpipe and catback exhaust, it sounds like a proper 4cyl should. It doesn't try to pretend that it's anything else. It has a bit of rasp but it does it in a very good way. I had a Focus ST with full OCD exhaust and I wish it ever sounded this good. I'd recommend giving it a look once it's released!

Austin, if you're on here, I hope you don't mind me sharing. This shit sounds GOOD.

The one thing the video doesn't convey is the deep bass tone that accompanies it. Not to mention the pops and crackles on decel.

Yeah for me I was not trying to find an exhaust that makes it sound like anything other than what it is. I would say that mine sounds like a cleaner Focus ST but deeper, and no farty sound like a weed wacker. BUT and it took some getting used to coming from the 15 GT to the EBM wide open throttle, I cannot explain or compare how this car sounds its an odd sound because its not too deep, but not too raspy or like roided moped sounding, its like a long buuuuuuuuuuuuur! then pop, then buuuuuuuuuuuuur pop crackle hehe. And that awesome gunshot sounding pressure release =)

I was at the Mustangs unlimited car show last Sunday and there were zero complaints from anyone there, the car had a fair bit of interest, almost as much as the GT350 sitting next to me. The problem with the two GT350 owners at that show was they are way too old to really enjoy those cars sorry has to be said =) if you bought those cars just to show up at shows and go look what I bought, then its a waste.

Awesome seeing you here! I certainly want to go catless but I've heard they smell bad and are tinny sounding. I'm thinking the Pypes dp sounds good especially for $290. Although i should probably buy a new IC before the DP :headbonk:
